Will Activision take this as a message that we are willing to pay more money?

2.5 illion People Have Bought the Over-priced Map Pack
It works out cheaper than 800MSP for 3 maps. That's not overpriced. (Although being charged for 3 maps in general is pretty dumb).
I bought it. It's good. But it screwed up matchmaking for me, because i cannot find a game within the first 30 seconds, takes about 5-10 minutes with the new Map pack.
Guess i won't be buying another one, if they screwed the first one up.
Now its a ghost town?
Im waiting for the ps3 versions to ship - some reason i am on my 4th prestige on ps3 - whereas still level 36 on 360 - meh
I thought I would buy them, and I didnt. I havent touched a video game besides starcraft broodwar in the past month. Clearly LAG-HATRED has set in due to everyone playing apparently call of duty has added a new teleporting system. And a new "Give the 56k a leg up!". I pay 340$ a month for my internet and I cant get a good connection. Bullshit.
Also for those who are going to ask if im an aussie im canadian - I could spit and almost hit Boston ; D
Even though the map pack would of cost me $12, I didn't buy it. Funny since CoD:MW2 is all I own for X360 (my only central gaming platform).
" @OmegaPirate said:Im not sure actually! i made it to one of the 360 bombing runs and have played occasionally with the ps3 bombers, but i definitely would leap into any bombers playing :) though i missed pessh's invites the other day - might be time to organise a new bombing run -maybe about when the ps3 map pack hits?" Now its a ghost town? Im waiting for the ps3 versions to ship - some reason i am on my 4th prestige on ps3 - whereas still level 36 on 360 - meh "Dude why do we never play with you? "
I'm a stupid person, I bought the map pack.
It must be really tough for some of you guys, to be trudging through life, surrounded by idiots.
If I wasn't such a freaking dumbass, I'd be able to empathise with you.
I would have bought them but they put double exp on all playlists so I had my fix and didn't want to spend the money on the maps, i will probably buy them later or not at all because I am almost of 10th prestige and will not play much more after that.
I bought it. I'm having fun with it. Sorry that I can't join in on the mass of people at Giant Bomb that hate all things popular.
Seeing the title of this thread instantly reminded me of trophyhunter's "that's million bucks" thread from last year. I doubt "2.5 illion people" will gain the same level of infamy, but it provided me with a chuckle in any case.
Also, 2.5 million sales at $15 a sale is $37.5 million. That's a lot of moolah. Considering most of that will go back to Activision, I think it's safe to say that future Call of Duty map packs (if not map packs in general) have just gained a new price point.
" People are stupid. That is all. "illions and illions of people to be exact.
Seriously, how much is an illion!?
Oh dang. I bet those 2.5 illion people are cursing themselves for buying new content for a game they enjoy playing. Oh wait. They can actually enjoy things regardless of popularity or perceived value. (Once again, I make the point that all of the Halo 3 map packs cost more per map than this one)
" @Blueman said:Or see Modern Warfare 2 irself:" I see the boycotts worked, then. "Internet boycotts never work, see L4D2. "
Yeah, ain't that the truth. This website is full of people that masturbate to cartoons, so I wouldn't put too much value into what they post. Some of us just like playing video games with friends, and having a good time. Not everyone is as shallow to define themselves by what games they play. They are just video games after all. It's rather silly to get upset over them." I bought it. I'm having fun with it. Sorry that I can't join in on the mass of people at Giant Bomb that hate all things popular. "
Anyways, that's around 25 percent of what the game sold. Not bad.
I personally didn't buy it because I don't play it enough. I still don't know where shit is on the old maps.
" @Kombat said:I think MW2 was a great game, I am just against paying that much for DLC. DLC was originally supposed something cheap and fun you could add to your game if you wanted. If they pushed the price to $15 what is to stop them from going further? I get upset when a company wastes my money.Yeah, ain't that the truth. I'm gobsmacked. This just gives Activision more incentive to rip people off. 38 million dollars in their pockets for 5 maps, I'm astounded.
Considering the fact that I haven't played the multiplayer for CoD4 I'm actually getting more out of this if I bought it. €15 for 5 maps ain't bad. I mean, I know everyone hates the game and I do admit it does have it problems but I still enjoy it so I might get this eventually.
