everyone has the right to complain.. of course.

but the more a group of people complains the less seriously you take them. to the point now that PC gamers are becoming a laughing stock because of the constant whinning from the vocal minority.

This seems legitimately cool. The quicksave feature alone is enough to get me pumped about this.

10,000 sigs and counting on that petition to remove GFWL. Honestly, I could see this swaying From into abandoning GFWL.

I said earlier in the topic that the tone that the majority of people complaining about GFWL is less-than-civil, but if it means a better version of the game, I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

I have to ask, how EXACTLY does steam make it a "better version of the game"?

Because GFWL is broken as fuck. It's abandonment would automatically make for a better version of the game. But look, I'm not intending to come across as one of those bitchy PC Gaming Master Race types. I'll still buy it, play it and enjoy the fuck out of it regardless of it having GFWL, but I really don't see how anyone who does even the slightest bit of reading about why GFWL is crap (better yet if you've had direct experience of its crapness) would think that its inclusion is a good thing.

Mainly, I'm just worried that it'll cut into sales to the point that From just won't bother putting anything else on PC after this, because that would be the worst thing that could come of this, not a couple of borked save games. I may not be the type of gamer that will have the knee-jerk reaction of not buying it just because of GFWL and I'm not going to pirate it to send a message, but many PC gamers ARE that type of gamer. That's all I'm trying to say.

i have a feeling this is a last chance kind of thing from FROM software. if it does turn out to be heavily pireted then i would expect it will be the last FROM software game we see on the PC. so lets hope THAT type of gamer does not fuck it up for the rest of us that will buy it.

Uh, Wut?

i just think if it gets pirated a lot they won't bother with the PC anymore. just my own thoughts. they might be bollocks though

Sorry but if you can't condense your thoughts into one post instead of 32 one liners I am not going to do it for you.

I did. I am simply replying to people more respectful and less self-absorbed than you.

The fact you wont even do something as simple as requested and expect me to read a long ass rant says alot. None of it good.

Of course I apologize.

Good boy. Now I will discuss your thoughts.

Stuff

Uh well just to throw this out there and all but Skyrim sold pretty well. It is a single player game.... Can't think of a single damn thing Steam does to enhance my enjoyment of it. Yet every single person who bought Skryim had to play it through Steam on PC. I happily admit to never even having a steam account until Fallout New Vegas came out. Also you can believe me when I say I was one of the stupid minority who bought Witcher 2 on GoG. I mean why would you buy it on steam to begin with? Patches? Please, GoG can get you a patch plenty easy. Multiplayer? It is a single player game.... Oh that's right, achievements! God knows those make or break a game, oh wait no they don't. Achievements have been stupid pointless cool points from the first day they existed and they always will be. However GoG got me more downloadable extras (like the games soundtrack) and no DRM. When I bought it from GoG it was even cheaper there due to a sale. Funny I thought only Steam had sales and low prices?

Steam is DRM, it is the consolization of my PC, and I don't like it. Most people who can see what PC gaming will look like 10 years from now from today's trends don't like it either. Why did EA make Origin? Because they are the anti christ right? No. Because Valve told them they were not allowed to sell DLC the way they wanted to and they either did it Steams way or the highway. I have a feeling they have a pretty similar approach to how multiplayer works with all the friends list stuff etc. Too bad Dark Souls doesn't work that way.

In fact I honestly PREFER GFWL. Do you know why? Because it is nothing but my Xbox Gamertag. I didn't have to sign up to a new service, I could still use MS points which I already had to use on Xbox anyway, and gee I can even play the game without launching a third party app first in alot of cases. As long as I am willing to play without any DLC etc at least. Steam required me to sign up for some new crap, makes me run it even when I am offline, even if I am just playing a single player game, and even if I have the physical disc in my hand. If that isn't DRM I don't know what is.

PS: Did you just say everyone who doesn't use Steam is probably a pirate anyway? Newsflash, I have never pirated a game.... ever. However I would sooner have a pirates back than some mindless goofus who thinks Steam is actually good for gaming.

"Can't think of a single damn thing Steam does to enhance my enjoyment of it."

Steamworkshop, intigrated accesible modding has had millions of downloads. Bethesda themselfs have acknowledged modding as part of the reason the game sells well on the pc. Games for Windows Live had none of this. Nor is it interested in it. This has enhanced the game for me and factually speaking, millions of other users. This is not my subjective opinion. It is facts used with stats.

"I mean why would you buy it on steam to begin with? Patches?"

This is a very good pro you bring up. When you have 500 games, having them update without having to do anything, saves hours of time. Hours.

Steam is DRM, it is the consolization of my PC

This idea that everything consoles over are bad is pretty stupid. How, the fuck... exactly, is the ability to get all your games at the click of a button, all of them auto-updated without spending hours on end dicking around, bad? Also, bro, if you were a longtime pc gamer like me (you clearly aren't) you would be aware of stuff like Mplayer that existed fucking, long, long before Xboxlive. Guess what bro? This shit came from the pc. Achievements? Auto-patching? Pc. Moot argument. Illogical. Factually wrong e.t.c....

Oh that's right, achievements! God knows those make or break a game, oh wait no they don't. Achievements have been stupid pointless cool points from the first day they existed and they always will be.

Again, while you (and your clearly huge self-importance) may deem that so. Millions factually speaking find achievements important. So this is moot.

Also Wittcher 2 uses achievements, so clearly CD Projekt themselfs deem them important enough to impliment them in. Moot argument. Illogical.

Why did EA make Origin? Because they are the anti christ right? No. Because Valve told them they were not allowed to sell DLC

No because steam has 40 million users and makes a shit ton of money. You really think it's about EA giving more customer service? Haha.

In fact I honestly PREFER GFWL. Do you know why? Because it is nothing but my Xbox Gamertag.

Now your contridicting yourself on "consolization".

Not going to bother reading the rest. Next time you decide to use a sarcastic obnoxious tone, use some logic and do some research. Helps alot.

You owe me roughly 7 minutes of my life. Don't try waste more, we are done here. Forever. Until the end of time.

im so pleased i don't care about any of this shit and im just able to enjoy my games

Thats pretty much what steam does. No dicking around patching. No searching for disks lost. Use it anywere on any computer.

Most of the hoops isn't steam itself but shit attached to it like Ubisofts DRM, or GFWL or gamespy. Signing in, then signing in, then signing in. Then downloading shit on top of downloads.

Waste of time.

but i've NEVER experianced ANY problem or inconvience using any of those services. im currectly playing Driver SF on the PC. remember all the shit that game got about UBIsoft and DRM and all that crap. but i've been playing it NO problem and loving it. if id listened to the nonsense that the intenest shat out i would of missed a fantastic game.

I've never had a problem playing F1 2012 or Dirt 2 using GFWL

I've never had a problem with Origin.

and i've never had a problem with Steam.

i ok with all of them really

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-04-12-shigeru-miyamoto-wishes-he-had-designed-angry-birds

'Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted he wishes he had designed Angry Birds, the hit gaming phenomenon now available on practically every non-Nintendo platform.

Nintendo's legendary developer revealed he enjoyed playing the game, praising its simple controls and "exciting" combination of game elements.

"Angry Birds is a very simple idea but it's one of those games that I immediately appreciated when I first started playing," Miyamoto told Hookshot, "before wishing that I had been the one to come up with the idea first."

"I mean, obviously I want to be the one creating the most convincing, surprising game ideas," he added.

"It takes a little while to get used to the controls, I think, but once you've mastered them, you have a lot of precision. To make the interface and controls work that well and intuitively... well, I think a lot of work went into getting that right."

Angry Birds has yet to appear on a Nintendo platform, despite the touch-screen controls of the DS and 3DS.

"Obviously, if the developer had created the game for Nintendo DS the controls would have been even better, but what can you do?" Miyamoto concluded.

Well im sure thats going to upset a few gaming snobs.

i cycle to work everyday. i have a decent bike i spend a lot on though.

where i live nearly every road has a cycle path next to it so i never have to ride next to traffic so i don't wear a helmet. but if that was not the case i would.

i do love to cycle though
