We just deployed a very small patch that:

• Floats all of your pending wall posts to the top of your profile page (you can only see this if you're viewing your own profile page).
• Mixes approved wall posts (with full text) on your wall with your activity on your profile page.

Not huge changes, but should be a nice tweak for those of you who use the wall to communicate with other duders :)

I still say blogs should just be forum posts. In fact, they appear in the same place, making the whole "blog" thing redundant. Also, I like pie and hash browns.

They're not required to be attached to a forum. That's the writer's choice.

@Branthog: This website started out as just a blog and blogging existed before the forums were created on this site. Deleting blogging would eliminate all of the site content from the beginning of the site.

Yeah, and before it was called "blogging" it was called "having a website". I'm obviously not talking about removing the actual content management system, but the user-side blogging system. Of course, I also misunderstood the first time I read Coonce's post and confused "wall post" with "blog", since we have so many different user-content functions going on. That was my dumb mistake. :)

Another thing I would like to see is the removal of the two post limit if both users are following each other. This will still eliminate spam, but allow users to have conversations with each other.

Yeah! Like beef it up to at least 5 or something. Or even have it so that the time in between having to wait is significantly lower. :D Thanks for these little updates, though. Super awesome!

Didn't they used to do this anyway? I thought it was just a bug that they didn't. Either way it's a cool update.

@coonce: Nifty. Hearkens back to my graffiti wall BBS days. Though I'm noticing that it's double-posting in the activity feed of both users... or is that only visible to the users in question?

I definitely tend to chat using wall posts, but like many I'll deny all but the most golden because the rollover is still around 15 posts. So the result is my wall looks like a time capsule, and my Inbox is still full of notifications to A) keep track of tidbits and B) remember those sweet summer nights. So I guess what I'm really asking is when do we get mailbox folders? ;)

Sorry for bumping an old blog. I couldn't find the other blog where people post their thoughts to improve a Whiskey Media site. I was thinking the profile page could have a history of wall messages. I just noticed I can't view my conversations with someone for old time's sake. Heh, I'm a little weird.

Well, I can't really access the "wall to wall" when both users' conversations get pushed down with recent messages. Since the person I'm viewing is no longer active, writing on their wall to make a new message (to access the wall to wall) doesn't work.

Why would you need to make a new message to access that functionality? Use the Wall tab. If it's not listed there due to more recent wall posts, click one of the other wall-to-wall links and modify the URL to include "takashichea" in place of the second username. Tada! Now you'll see the wall conversation between you and that person instead of random stranger and that person.
