The microtransactions thing really only apply if you choose to buy the game piecemeal.

The full thing is right there for 30 or 40 moneys and then the microtransactions are just the rare guns you can find in the game or the mission revives that you also find in the game.

It doesn't feel like it was balanced in a way for you to spend real money on it really.

NISA has announced that they are going to bring out Rodea: The Sky Soldier for the West in the fall.

While it's no graphical stunner, I think it might be worth keeping an eye on... I mean it is by Mr. Yuji Naka! A heart that burns for SEGA is a heart that burns strong!

Even though both SkyGunner and Sin & Punishment came to mind while I was watching the video, it doesn't quite look like anything that I've seen before.

It seems like the 4th Konami Arcade Championship has just taken place as they've gone and uploaded a bunch of videos on their YouTube channel from the finals in a bunch of different rhythm games.

It's somewhat refreshing to see that there are still some skillful video game play that isn't just tied to playing MOBAs, fighting games or general speedrunning. All these finalists are rhythm wizards!

Below are some of the videos that I've timecoded to start around some of the action.

@belegorm: There's something about overt, pervy content in games like these that transcends sexual allure and becomes extremely comical... For me at least.

Maybe I just have a sort of ironic appreciation of the Japanese way of sexualizing everything, because of how ridiculous it is.

There's a sort of upgraded version of Deception IV: Blood Ties coming out in Japan soon, titled Deception IV: Another Princess. Koei Tecmo's got a lot of stuff lined up for the current Quarter so they haven't talked about whether or not they are bringing it west, but it looks to have some fun upgrades!

Not only does it bring back the heroines from the previous Deception games, it also adds a bunch of present day locales, such as a high-school and a hospital, turning the silliness of the traps up to 11!

Like the original game, it comes out on PS3 and Vita, but it will also be available on PS4.

I'm imagining Dan asking the president about the La-Le-Lu-Le-Lo during UPF, then the stream cuts, Giantbomb.com goes down and we never here from the Duders again.

Dan: "So, Mr. President... Have you ever ridden a mech? Do you have a Metal Gear?"

Another new snippet of gameplay has popped up, showcasing new and old characters. One of the new ones, Renka, seems to have a very cool moveset revolving around fighting with Taiko Drumsticks.

This video seems to be just recorded in standard 30 frames, but the game does still run at 60.

Skip about a minute ahead to get to the gameplay and as always with these games, it's kinda NSFW and really shouldn't be watched by anyone.

The main character seems like less of a blank slate this time around, which is nice!

@i_stay_puft: Well I figure that since it's Koei Tecmo, they might push for it. I mean, they are successfully localizing almost all of their other musou games, where Capcom refuses to localize Sengoku Basara because westerners "wouldn't understand it".

Here's some new gameplay from Taipei Game Show 2015, led off with about 20 seconds of voice actors performing.

In this video we see the player hub of the game where you upgrade your characters with weapons and equipment before venturing forth.

It is interesting to see how the team mechanics work in a different way than something like Samurai Warriors 4, where your chosen characters are used to attack and defend various objectives and points on the map. Here it's much more like a traditional RPG where your party sticks together and supports each other with healing magic and the likes. I'm not sure if there is a concept of aggro like there is in MMOs or if big boss characters just attack all willy-nilly as it sorta seems like in the video below.

Also, the game had a Chinese version announced during the event and neither Square or Koei Tecmo seems to be dismissive about the idea of an English release, according to this article, so that is something that I find incredibly exciting. Fingers crossed for a fall 2015 Western release!
