I was eating at KFC and took my $250 (cdn) bulova watch off for some reason and left it on the food tray, then we left to a new years eve party. That night I was asked what time it was.

I then knew what a grievous error I'd made.

FfXIII is much like MGS4 takes its self much to seriously and tries to force a cartoonishly dramatic story down your throat and hopes you're simple enough to care for it.

@Wipeout
I'm sure Will Smith worked much harder than any of us to earn his 42 million dollar house.  After all, he was like in 7 movies.  Getting up at noon and welcoming aliens to erf is hard.  How dare you tax him more.  Everyone knows you can't live comfortably in a 41 million dollar house!
Well if he didn't work hard, I'm sure you can easily match what he's achieved so far.

Go ahead, I'll wait here till you get back.

Lets be honest here. Gaming is terrible. My kids when I eventually have some will be banned from video games so they don't shit half their lives down the toilet. I personally wish my parents had done the same, but here I am.

My biggest like most here is Epic.  I honestly used to love the word.  I just sounds great, had great meaning and was used sparingly.  Then hyperbole became popular.  The smallest, most mundane things became epic.  Made it up the stairs? "EPIC DUDE!"  Had a tasty sandwich? "THAT SHIT WAS EPICLY GOOD" and so forth.  It once had it's place, and was funny at first when used to describe some silly things but now anything that uses that word to describe anything I cringe.

This is something that I've experience quite a few times.  Though mostly a few years back.  I didn't know what it was for a long time till a friend randomly brought it up cause he was reading about it.   Most people experience it once or twice, and if you do start to experience it often, take comfort knowing that you eventually get to know when you're experiencing it, and that you'll know that you're probably going to see something fucked up, or that it only lasts a short time, and it won't nearly be as scary.   When it occassionally happens to me now, it's more of an annoyance.

I'll describe some of my more notable experiences

1st experience (visual halucination):  "Woke up" couldn't move, but I knew there was something sinister standing over me...  Attempted to scream and run, but I couldnt, Dude had an axe or sword or something and was about to lumberjack my head off.  First thing I did once I was able to move was to throw my comforter in his general direction (hardcore right?)...  But yeah, didn't sleep that night obviously.

2nd (aural hallucination):  fell asleep watching a dave chapell (sp?) DVD.  The menu started looping where the dude is playing the harmonica.  I woke up with my heart beating so fucking hard that my vision virtually shook with every beat, and the harmonica sounded like the fucking scariest thing I've ever heard in my life.  Once I was able to move I litterally fell out of my bed (onto my wooden floor no less) dragged myself across the floor to my TV and managed to finally turn off the TV so the sound would stop.

3rd (visual and most common):  I'd wake up, have the feeling that something was near me.  I'd eventually throw my eyes open (this gets me out of the paralysis the fastest) and basically there's be this fucked up shadow face (kind of like when you look at a bright light, then close your eyes, but imagine the light formed some creepy ass face)  that would scream at me for a split second and be gone.

4th (visual):  Woke up, and looked to my right, and some creepy ass creature was scampering across the floor at me

5th (visual): woke up, looked to my left and there was the dude who looked alot like the guy from V for Vendetta just laying beside me and staring at me.

Anyways, long post, but I'm absolutely facinated with this stuff now.  Starts out freakishly scary, but now, after the fact, and numerous times later, I find the experience to be pretty freakin cool.

I can agree with the God of War 1 spinning blade pillars as absolutely and mind breakingly horrible.  It takes alot to make me want to quit a game... but that section just seemed fucking unfair...

Where's the "Agree it wasn't amazing, but definitely not bad" option in your poll?

I bought Limbo day one and went into it with my hype glasses on.  After about an hour my vision cleared and I felt like it started to drag a bit.  Definitely not a bad game, but definitely not this god-send of a game that most people are making it out to be.  After I finished it that same day, I kind of wanted to have my $15 back, because to be honest, it's a pretty steep price for what you get in Limbo, being that it's so short and has absolutely no replay value.

Regardless, played it once that day, enjoyed it, but haven't touched it since and have absolutely no desire to, there are better puzzle/platformers out there, and the art loses alot of its impact after the first couple levels.
