Another holiday season is upon us and you know what that means. A lot of high profile games have begun being delayed into 2010 for a multitude of reasons however, even with all of these delays, I am still finding myself looking at the amount of quality games coming out this year and having to decide which ones are must haves and which ones I will have to pass on until they become cheaper or until next summer when there is another 4-5 months of absolutely nothing noteworthy releasing. Below is a list of games that are coming out this holiday season that have piqued my interest.

• Need for Speed: Shift (09/15/2009)
• HALO 3: ODST (09/22/2009)
• Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (10/13/2009)
• Fallout 3: GOTY (10/13/2009)
• Borderlands (10/20/2009)
• Forza Motorsport 3 (10/27/2009)
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (11/10/2009)
• Assassin's Creed 2 (11/17/2009)
• Left 4 Dead 2 (11/17/2009)

The Saboteur and Borderlands are my #1 picks. Also Uncharted 2, I haven't played the first yet, but it looks great.

Yeah, there are definitely still big names out there. I am definitely going to get Halo 3: ODST, Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2 and Uncharted 2. A lot of 2's.
 
Mass Effect 2 is delayed until Q1 and I believe Splinter Cell is the same.

I thought Mass Effect 2 was coming out in 2010.
 
Anyway, I'm not really worried about the delays. In fact I'm sorta happy about them, because it means more time to spend with the games I am getting and potentially better games for the ones I am looking forward to that have been delayed along with being able to potentially spend more time with those as well once they release. Also, it means less things to compete with my Persona on PSP time and Modern Warfare 2 time :)

I have had to type this list about 5 times now so thankfuly i remembered to save it somewhere. And by the way splinter cell got delayed to 2010. I think mass effect as well.

ODST, Forza 3, and MW2 is all i'm getting this holiday season. Everything else i will wait till next year when they are around $20.

Exactly my feelings.  While it sucks seeing games get delayed into next year, we still have a bunch of great games still coming out this year, specifically Assassin's Creed II, Halo 3: ODST and Modern Warfare 2 for me.  Those are just a few of the games I want to get this Fall, though.

You forgot Dragon Age: Origins (10/20/2009). I completely agree with your OP. Even with all the delay there are a lot of other good games coming out.

Yes I can't say I was looking forward to that many of the games that got delayed. I see a lot of people flaunting the sequels though which is annoying because a lot of original titles are due this year.

Just seeing that list makes my wallet cry a little. I'll definitely be buying a handful of those games, even some not mentioned (Brutal Legend & Dragon Age.) As they say: 'tis the season.
