"I actually really liked both the Uncharted and Valkyrie demos. Hmm, the one demo that really stands out to me would have to be Burnout Paradise. I really didn't like the demo at all, and only ended up getting the game at my friends insistence. Over 80 hours later, I think it's safe to say my opinion of the game changed drastically."
Yea, I didn't think much of the Burnout Paradise demo and avoided the game for over a year.  But I got the game a few weeks ago and it rocks.  Of the Demo's I did play, only a few MADE me get up and get the game right away--ICO, and Uncharted.  Those were great demos.

Did you guys see this article (http://kotaku.com/5163641/analyst-one-in-three-god-of-war-iii-buyers-dont-own-a-ps3)?  It says that 1 out of 3 people who plans on getting GOD 3 does NOT own a PS3--suggesting we should see a large hardware bump when the game comes out?  Do you buy this?  As I recall (can't quote any numbers), Metal Gear Solid 4 didn't see a huge jump in hardware sales nor did the release of GTA IV.  You guys think GOW 3 will see a huge number of consoles, or do you currently plan of getting the PS3 when GOW 3 comes out?

"Typically for all the years I've been on the net I always have a set of sites I'll visit multiple times a day for different uses. For games my current set looks like this :Giant Bomb (more for checking out the forums, front page actually doesn't do much for me)Gamersyde (nice images and videos site)Game Trailers (good for trailers of electronic entertainment products)JoystiqMajor NelsonBlue's News (don't PC game much anymore, but I've visited the site since it was called Quake News and was one of about a dozen videogame news sites on the net)NeoGAF (for news only, discussion there is toxic)Amazon Deal of the DayGamestop daily dealAlso one site that I won't mention because they put up magazine scans"
Yea, I was like that too.  I would go to voodoo extreme and get a load of news and then headed on over to IGN and cruise the boards, then saw what 1up had to offer, then went  to see what gametrailers had to on-line etc...  Combine this with CNN, ESPN, and more,  it was getting too much--so I went with the RSS feed and it's been great.  I still look at the sites, bit it's nice to have a bunch of updates on 1 page.

Ever since the shut down of EGM and the "restructuring" of 1up.com, I've been going to a whole bunch more sites for gaming news.  Of note, the ex-1upper's sites, and of course giantbomb!!!.  After bookmarking all these new sites and more, I decided to start getting my gaming info from the RSS feed in the Google reader and found it much easier to manage than visiting 10+ sites a day.  Just wonder how you guys cruise the net and keep up with the gossip.

edit--man, I can't spell!!!

I know, cheezy title.  Anyway--I been reading about how Blu-ray is a fad and will go the way of the Laserdisk (which I did own mind you), and will be replaced by streaming.  While I do agree that streaming video from the could is the future, I don't think that we're going to see that in the NEAR future.  For full disclosure, I have a Sony Bravia 52 inch LCD, PS3, Denon 3801 receiver with Mirage speakers, and I have to say that I love Blu-ray and the picture quality it brings.  My wife, who isn't really into "tech stuff", says that she sees a huge difference in Blu-rays and upconverted DVD's on the PS3.
Now here is my issue with people saying that Blu-ray is going to die soon--nothing that we see from Cable or streaming does 1080p.  Say what you will about 1080p vs 720p vs 1080i etc...I can see a huge difference in quality.  Furthermore, Blu-rays also provide LOSSLESS audio!!!  I am currently thinking of upgrading the old receiver so I can hear the hi-def audio formats, but let me tell you--they sound great.  I don't know why people keep forgetting about the hi-def AUDIO when discussing the benefits of Blu-ray vs streaming or other things.  Another thing is that Hi-Def video files are large, and I'm a Comcast cable/internet user.  So while my 250 GB cap should be good for normal use and you-tube and gaming...I could easily see myself hitting that cap if I needed to stream HD content all the time.  Also, no way would I invest in a streaming/download system until they get the DRM thing sorted out.

Just an rant....

Man, this game looks awesome.  I love that some people are trying to pull 2-D back into style (SF IV says HELLO!!!).  Does anyone think that Konami should make the next console version of Castlevania look like this?

Man, screw that controller.  Has any one seen the Super Famicom controller?  That's the new (uhhh old?) hotness.

I loved FFVII when it came out for the PS1.  I was a Nintendo fanboy in the past and only owned Nintendo consoles at the time (the Atari 2600 doesn't count).  Anyway, when I heard that FFVII was going to the PS1 and NOT the N64 I was so mad I wrote Nintendo an e-mail telling them how disappointed I was at them and "how could you let this happen?"  Surprisingly enough I did get a generic response back...  Anyway back to FFVII--I loved the game when it came out.  Hell, I even bought a PS1 for it (it felt sooooooo dirty buying a non-Nintendo console!!!), but looking back on it, I really don't know why people love it so much.  My favorite FF was FFII (FFIV in Japan) for the SNES.  The first time I saw the airships flying over the ground in STUNNING mode 7 graphics, I was hooked.  I still think it has the best music of any FF.  Anyway, this game was probably the first JRPG a lot of younger gamers played, and thus have such fond memories for.  Speaking of fond memories--I'm going to start playing some DQ VIII for the PS2 soon!!!

I don't have a pile of shame.  But I have been going through some old games and giving them a spin--lots and lots of fun.  Got Burnout a few weeks ago and I have to say the game rocks.
