My two best friends since middle school are still my friends and we've always played games though all of us play much less than we once did. I also have a few friends from when I played lots of WoW a long time ago.
Well I wish I had seen this thread sooner, but I suppose better late than never. Condolences to you Patrick. I can only imagine what the loss of my father would do to me, and how hard it would be on my entire family so I wish you the best. Be strong and know that this entire community is reaching out to support you. May your father rest in peace and his memory be with you always.
I've played over 100 hours on the PS3 and my save file is twice as large as when the frame rate is supposed to go to shit and while my frame rate does get pretty bad it only does so after a few hours of playtime. If I restart my system it seems to be fine. I can't say how other people's experiences have been, but Skyrim is easily the best game I have played this year and the few bugs I have encountered have done little to change that fact.
I read the Lord of the Rings when I was 12 and loved all three. The Fellowship of the Ring goes to great lengths to describe everything within the world and I believe that it is brilliant, however, I could certainly see how that could feel a little excessive for some. I do think that The Two Towers and Return of the King have a lot more plot progression and they move more quickly so I would say that Fellowship could be seen as overly descriptive, but I think that the other two describe the world just enough while painting one of the greatest fantasy stories of all time. George R.R. Martin's books are fantastic, but I would say that they are far more tedious to read if you are simply trying to trudge through the story. There are very few stories that have created worlds so believable and Tolkien's writing and very long descriptions are a lot of what allowed that world to be fully realized.
KainLV, the vast majority of my friends on my friend's list are all the way back from Halo 2 and very few of them still play so I'm looking for some new people to play with.
I enjoyed the battle system in FFXIII immensely. Unfortunately the vast majority of the battles in the primary story line were very easy and so it did not require using what was interesting about the system. The hunts on Gran Pulse truly showed off how great that system was in my opinion. I felt that having to figure out what paradigms to use in any given situation was interesting when actually set with some of the more difficult battles of the hunts. If they use the same battle system in XIII-2 but step up the difficulty for the story based battles then I think it could be great.
