@tadros: The system is kind of flawed, but I guess it's the only one we've got? Or that is widely accepted? Are there other alternatives? As for your current situation, I think a lot of people are in the same boat man. I've just completed second year uni and most of the study I did was from home in my own time as well. I don't have the same luck with teachers/lecturers that others seem to have. I recall 3 out of my ENTIRE education (as far as I can remember anyway). The rest just do it as a job, are hard to understand (literally, accent wise), or just don't care. Either way, it doesn't seem worth the hassle of travelling to uni for me. I too will be paying out of my pocket so I'm essentially forking out thousands of dollars to self teach and get a piece of paper should I graduate. Of course things are probably different for other courses or unis/colleges, this has just been my experience and it kind of sounds like it's been yours too
