To further support my point, I think the diversity here and in Japan is proof right there that we can't keep using JRPG and WRPG as genre titles. There's so much variety everywhere in this day and age in gaming, that it's pointless to refer to it as a genre in my opinion. Some RPGS coming from Japan are similar to western rpgs, and some rpgs in america are similar to rpgs from japan. Things are all over the place. Why keep using these terms as genre labels if this is how things are now?

If it helps you come to terms with the reality of these definitions, think of JRPG as meaning "Japanese (style) Role Playing Game" and WRPG as "Western (style) Role Playing Game."

JRPG is a genre, not a geographic distinction. Just as Japanese devs can make Western RPGs such as Dragon's Dogma and the Souls games, western devs can make JRPGs.

Bought this on console for mere tuppence a short while ago. It... hasn't aged well. Imagine it's a very different experience on PC, though.

I played this on PC a few months back (also in anticipation of Inquisition), and I though it held up fine.

The vendor gear is some legendary gloves and a legendary machinegun, which both require you to be level 3 and don't seem better than any of the standard vanguard gear. If you're going to get to rank 3 with anyone you might as well just stick to grinding out patrol missions and heroics :/

Well, theoretically you could get to rank 3 in the iron banner faster than vanguard or standard crucible because not only does it take less overall rep to level it up, you get bonuses for using the emblem, shader, and class item. Also, that stuff is insanely cheap (10 marks each) compared to the standard vanguard and crucible stuff (Between 65 and 125 marks for armor and 150 marks for guns).

At 10 marks that stuff is more than worth buying several copies even you don't need to use them for the ascendant materials you'd get for breaking them down.

I'm hijacking your topic with the exact same question except on PSN. I'm in Europe. GMT+1. However, I've been playing with US players as well so do not feel discouraged about the location.

Been raiding with GB guys quite a lot, send a friend request to iL_Exile_Li on PSN and you'll get an invite if you're on when we're setting up for a run.

90% of the game can be played completely solo, but that last 10% is probably the best part of the game (high level strikes and raid). The part that you can play solo is the part that you rush through to get to the interesting stuff.

I thought it would be a lot more noticeable when someone had better gear but it just felt like normal PvP. The supreme victory of Lincoln Force.ru was also a nice bonus. It doesn't happen often but having a full team is really fun.

Hell yeah, comrade!

I couldn't detect much of difference with the level advantages enabled, but I sure had a ton of fun with a full group of GB duders after our raid run tonight. We didn't even come close to losing and I personally had about a 5.0 kill death tonight.
