There are no "combos", if that's what you're looking for. Experiment, man. Alternate between attacks and signs. There are a lot of possibilities in The Witcher 2.
I wanted to use the controller for my second playthrough once EE came out, but then I found out that they didn't touch the gamepad support for the PC version(I'm surprised that people don't seem to notice that), so I stuck with K+M.
Would anyone be kind enough to provide a time frame for which said spoilers take place on the podcast? I would prefer to maintain a spoiler-free Fez experience.
Just got Witcher 2 this morning and spotted this. Is there any benefit to the assassin attribute? I saw the notification flash up on the screen but I didn't get a feel for what it meant.
Naah, it´s just a funny easter egg =)
You get the Assassin Ability. There's a whole bunch of different character abilities you can unlock by doing "hidden" things.
Yeah, like (Very minor spoilers for the Prologue and the beggining of Chapter 1.)
Cover(+10% damage reduction) when you get to Flotsam without stepping out of the forcefield and Strongback(+50 weight limit), when you spare Aryan and then carry him out of the dungeon.
I'm not sure if there's anything else. Can't remember.
I was really disappointed by the total lack of improvements made to the gamepad support. Seems like they haven't touched it at all, while I was hoping for the same overhaul the Xbox version got. I guess my second playthrough will be made with the keyboard+mouse setup. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I just wanted to see how the game plays with a properly implemented gamepad UI.
And we still can't cycle through inventory/journal/character screens without hitting Escape. Sad.
Duders, I have done it. The dog is dead, and my sanity is saved. I can now go back to enjoying this game.
@MB Unfortunately my computer lies in the form if a 2008 MacBook pro, and it could not run The Witcher 2. The reviews for the 360 version have been very good though, it seems like they did a great job on it.
This is the toughest fight in the game for some reason.
When you leave the cave to face the mob the game fast forwards the time to midnight(I think, it's dark) no matter what time it was while you were inside the cave. Load your save when you're still inside, meditate to 10pm-ish. Dope the shit out of Geralt with potions, oils and whatever(maybe save again just in case) and THEN leave the cave. The fight should be easier. Make sure that you're using the group stance. I don't remember if it's easier to attack the Beast or target barghests first. If I remember correctly it's better to stay away from the Beast and kill barghests. There's not that many of them and with a proper oil(specter) they go down quickly.
You'll probably have to try it two or three times before you succeed.
Don't worry about Abigail. She only gets knocked out and gets up after the fight.
