Arrrrrgh. Why did this get posted to General Discussion? I'm sorry! Sort of new at this.

I don't know why the Left 4 Dead games have never really grabbed me. They're fun while I'm playing them, but I rarely get the itch to go back.  After beating the campaigns, I spent very little time in the first game. I bought Left 4 Dead 2 mainly to support Valve for being awesome (and to get Bill's hat in TF2), but I only played a couple campaigns and haven't touched it since that first week. That being said, booting up Left 4 Dead 2 last night to check out The Passing (cause, you know, why not? It's free) totally made me love the game, maybe for the first time. I can't really even explain why, but I totally fell in love with the feeling of it all, the design, the whole aesthetic and sense of humor. And I was shocked how much "the big surprise that everyone knows about" ended up affecting me.

After The Passing, I tried out some of this week's Mutation and then played a few rounds of Versus and really just had a wonderful time. I'm definitely going to be playing a lot more of Left 4 Dead 2 now, and I guess I have The Passing to thank for it, strangely enough. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Aww, man, I actually had that now non-existent quest. I can't imagine ever getting the other one.

Still, probably a good move.

Still on the fence about LP2, but I would buy it in an instant for the dancing Capcom logo. Make it happen!

I gotta echo the White House battle after the VP. And I also beat it by just chucking any grenade I had left and right until there were only a couple dudes left. Not very satisfying, but recommended nonetheless.

Official, from Ubisoft:

"Hi Guys,

We’re working hard on eliminating the bug that is preventing people from getting the “Realistic Difficulty” achievement for Splinter Cell Conviction (Complete Single Player Story on Realistic Difficulty).

While we can’t discuss timing right now we can confirm that this issue will be fixed in the next title update for SCC.

The fix will automatically detect if you’ve already finished the game on Realistic difficulty and award you with the missing achievement. This means you will not need to play through the single-player campaign a second time after the update comes out, it’ll all be handled automatically.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.  "

It's a completely common issue, a known bug. I read on the Ubi forums that anyone playing with the game connected an XBOX connected to the Internet is having the same problem. Apparently the only solution right now is to unplug your ethernet cable or wi-fi and play the entire game again on Realistic. Stupid. Still, mods over there say that Ubisoft knows about it and is working on it. I just hope it's retroactive.

There's a card in the box that has the instructions. You just sign up at Ubisoft's website with the code in the box and they let you know when it's ready. Pretty straightforward. And, yeah, you'll just access it via the disc. Not a Gamestop exclusive.
