I'm curious about these, are they used to make anything really good?
I ask because the thing that you can trade items for souls would normally do 100 souls for armor... but these were 1000 a piece. I held off on selling them because it seemed a bit fishy. So is there something awesome you can do with them?
I've noticed that Dark Souls seems to be a little more transparent with this stuff than Demon's was because if you look at the item descriptions for the souls they actually say 'consume for souls or use to make unique weapon' or similar. At least the Moonlit Butterfly soul I'm hanging onto does. And when you try to upgrade the Eustas Flask it tells you you need the Fire Keeper soul so when I got it I knew exactly what to do with it. Unlike Demon's where if you didn't read a faq you'd have no idea you can craft stuff with boss souls.
Lemme guess, the frogs? They're actually easy to kill without getting cursed if you just stay out of the clouds of dust they spit and don't panic. As far as healing it goes, you're gonna need 4000 souls to buy the cure from an NPC in a tower near the gargoyle boss battle. He's easy to spot, he's in robes and has his arms out to the sides like a damn scarecrow. Good luck!
There is a guy in the shortcut to the lower undead burg too that sells them.
Wasted 5 to 6 hours where? You're best off getting to Blighttown when you get the key from beating the Depths boss. There might be other ways to get there but don't be crazy.
In blightstown. I've beat the depths boss and such.
At any rate I just watched a video in another thread and it seems like there was a closer bonfire to the boss in there that I didn't see. Can probably ignore this post now lol.
To be completely honest I feel dark souls (and demon souls) was designed in a way that almost wants you to visit some sort of wiki when you are really lost. I did it now and then in demon souls and have in dark souls as well.
Just curious if there is a shortcut to this place. If there is, where?
I ask because I feel like I just wasted a good 5 or 6 hours in the place; only to break my weapon (and I was cursed entire time @ half hp :/) and have to pretty much backtrack all the way to the starting area. Next time I head in is there a shortcut I should watch out for?
Also random question but I'm enchanting an Iadio sword to hopefully replace my dragon sword. Good idea? I have a lot of titaniate to get it beyond +5.
