I don't know what you're talking about.  I created female mains in Fallout 2, Fable 2 and Mass Effect without any trouble.  Each were distinct and different than each other and they didn't look like a male character with boobs either.  In society, women generally have more fashion options, and while carrying that idea over to video games is difficult, I haven't run across many games made in recent history that short changes female characters when they are included.  If you are talking about character development over the course of the game, then that's another issue entirely.

I think this is just part of the play your PS3 titles over your PSP or watch movies from your PS3 remotely on your PSP thingy.  It sounds like an expanded version of that concept.

It's sad but I think it ranks pretty low on the list of cases organizations like Amnesty International [http://www.amnesty.org/] and Human Right Watch [http://www.hrw.org/] are trying to amend.  The situation in Darfur, Sudan alone has been a disgrace to humankind for years.

I must agree.  Just because they are a realistic enemy doesn't make them the same as terrorists.  Terrorists rarely have tanks, airplanes and battleships.  When you play a game against Nazis, the possibility exists that you will be bombed by Junkers Ju 87s or encounter a Panzer  Mark V.  In a modern game, it's highly unlikely that the terrorists have air cover or modern heavy armor.  I'm not saying it's impossible, just rare unless you are fighting some former Russian separatists or PMC and then I'm not sure I'd call them terrorists, anyway.

Anyway, my answer is "cyber-zombie-nazis from hell"  Sound crazy?  Check out Id's new Wolfenstein trailers http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/311442.html

Well, I'm not going to add to the Illusion Software joke-answer mentioned above...Artificial Girl 3 is better, anyway.

So, I think whatever they choose must be a game of reasonable size, not just something as hard as nails to finish.  I believe it has to be varied enough to keep our [viewers] interest as well as something not widely familiar.  Here is a few viable options for GBs next E-Run.

  • Civilization Revolution
  • The Witcher Enhanced Edition
  • Free Realms or Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine or Aion: the Tower of Eternity (all are free MMOs)
  • Disgaea 3
  • Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
  • Incredible Crisis (check out this video in case you've forgotten)

It hasn't aired yet on G4tv. April 10th I believe it will be broadcast.  There are interviews with winners over on Youtube, but maybe due to broadcast agreements, cameras weren't allowed at the ceremony.

I played the Crackdown demo as if it was a real game.  I only knew of the game as the game shipping along side the Halo 3 beta.  There was no way I was going to by a full price game for a beta, but if Crackdown was okay, then it might be worth the price of admission.  So I downloaded the demo and was amazed by what I experienced.  I got totally hooked on collecting orbs, figuring out ways to reach higher areas, and blow up more stuff with a single grenade.  Crackdown became my favorite game of 2007, and it all was because I had such a good time with the demo.

Burnout Paradise
demo soured me, but I picked it up eventually because everyone kept saying "the demo does a disservice to the actual game".  I love the full game, but the demo scared me off for several months after launch.  I still can't figure out what's going on in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts from the demo.  I guess it didn't click with me, because even though its an affordable game, I don't understand what I'm supposed to do and therefore I'm not interested in buying it.

The podcast is good.  I mentioned it over in the "How many podcasts do you listen to" thread.  It's worth a listen for Jeff Green and Shawn Elliott alone.  RebelFm has been getting on my nerves as of late with it's randomness, but they are young and recently lost a founder to Sony.  The only downside to Out of the Game so far is the low sound quality but that's likely do to Skypeing the group together.  I think it has a lot of potential though to hear the observations of mature people now a part of the industry.  For really in depth commentary on video games, Idle Thumbs is probably the best podcast in production right now.  Well, that's my opinion, at least.

Well, I used to be chaotic neutral but as I've grown older, I find myself leaning more towards lawful neutral.  I guess I can understand why some people wind up lawful good, but I can't just yet align myself to that level of commitment.  Maybe over time, maturity will completely alienate my viewpoints from what is unfamiliar, and then I'll make that final step in welcoming conformity...I'm sorry, what were we talking about?
