New Year, New List
Really wish I had bothered playing this last year; the style really comes from the gameplay and I just hope that they make some new stuff.
This sometimes feels like a Mario Party, when things are going fine it's really fun, but when orders just are not coming through it becomes an absolute mess and people are to blame.
Not a fan of the jump-cut style but I liked the overall look of the game. Shame the story wasn't that good, sure there's no dialog and it's not impossible to understand, it's just not that interesting.
It has some charm and some of the party games actually work.
This time in VR.
Finished it in VR and it really helped convince me that there can be good VR experiences on the PS4. The whole aesthetic of the game works really well.
Fairly disappointed with this one, whilst the overall aesthetic of the game is good, the actual NLP mechanics of the game aren't that great. Overall I didn't actually feel like I was conversing with an AI, often times it'd just not understand fairly basic things I asked or it would just jump from subject to subject making it a super stilted conversation. Also felt that the story just fell flat. Whilst I did want to like the AI I just didn't really care for the overall outcome and the ending I got (consciousness one) was very lackluster.
Learning to speedrun is a nightmare
Playing this 50/50 VR and Normal. With VR mode I can finally say there's a game that scares me.
24/03/17:
Finally finished it, I have to say that past the Baker's home the game really lost it for me. The boat sequence is nice looking but ultimately feels useless, and the Salt Mines were nothing but frustrating action scenes that served very little purpose IMO.
However the Baker family was a great set of villains and the dad's motivational speech at the end really worked for me, it's just a shame that last third wasn't as good as the start.
Still, great to see RE is back at it.
It's okay, there's something very relaxing about it but I'm not getting that much out of the world.
I miss Trico
Yakuza 0 has some really strong moments and builds up the two main characters pretty well. Unfortunately the brawling becomes tedious after a while and it doesn't help that the game conveys the struggle of the protagonist by adding more and more dudes on screen. That said I genuinely liked the story to this game and felt for both protagonists and their peers. Really looking forward to Kiwami.
I didn't finish the 3DS version the year I got it so just trying to clear it up now.
I think that the final fight is a bit weakened by how overpowered you can easily become. That said I loved every second of this game and the idea that I still want to run around Hyrule even after having finished it is such a refreshing feel for the series.
Once again trying to beat this one. Managed to get through the first dungeon and it does feel pretty satisfying. This game is so different from the other ones that it's def. worth looking at.
Aside from the fact that the game seems to have only two tracks of music, Disc Jam is relatively fun.
It's okay.
Ryuji number 1
Great style and fun enough gameplay but not sure how long this can last.
Actually went through it properly this time. Whilst the overall "story" elements aren't that amazing, the last third of the game is really great. It's a shame the first half is just too close to Limbo. Yeah it's grim, yeah the deaths are pretty impactful because it's a kid, but the gameplay is just not enticing at all. However in the last third of the game that all changes.
It's a bit clunky but the concept and the atmosphere of the game is pretty good. Only played about 30 minutes of it though because I feel the game is probably best played against someone rather than the AI.
It's still a great game and still the best rhythm game out of Japan.
Great game for parties
again and again
Mainly for the terrorist hunt mode.
Bought the Switch version
With all the talk around The New Order I thought I'd try the game again this year. I do enjoy the world it's built and the gameplay is good but I fell off again after 3 to 4h of playing it.
It's just too fresh
The fact that 2017 has a good Sonic game in it really shows how great of a year it's been.
Bought it after the 1.3 patch came out (and it was only 15 pounds). I'm not feeling the game at all, even with the new stuff they have added I still don't feel that it's a game I can enjoy. I'll try to sink in at least 5 hours into the game but right now it's doing nothing for me.
Playing it with Enemy Within. Still fun, still hard.
This is wrong.
Playing this co-op
Spending most of the game building the tropes you want to mock only to subvert them almost in a trope-y way just defeats the purpose of this VN.
