I think it depends. You can't purchase The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us on PC without buying the whole season for $25, so one episode for that amount of money would be a crappy deal, even if the first episodes are great. You could be spending that much money on one good episode and the rest could turn out to be really crappy. So I think it depends on whether or not you can buy an episode individually or are forced to purchase a season pass.
You don't go into Mario expecting a great story, and you don't go into The Walking Dead expecting amazing gameplay. It depends on the game, and I'm surprised that's not everybody's answer.
EDIT: I think the better question would be "Do you prefer games with a great story or fun gameplay?" That way, people could say "I prefer games like The Walking Dead that have a strong narrative."
That was funny, but I feel like the trailer should be a sufficient enough joke. I think if you stretch it out to 90+ minutes, it might lose its appeal.
I bought a new Genesis last year and had similar problems. I just kept trying/cleaning/blowing into them and pushing them hard into the slot until it worked. I'm sure you've done that already since you're asking for help, which means that the cartridges could be dead. If one works, it means that it is very likely that the system is fine and the cartridges are what's the problem. Keep trying. Be aggressive on the cartridges since you've got nothing to lose at this point. If it doesn't work, just accept the refund and try different ones. Get cheap, crappy sports games to try out.
That's my guess. He seemed to be way into The Last of Us and it's the last game he will be playing before the game of the year discussions so it'll be on his mind. He straight up said that Zelda is better than brothers in a podcast. Dota 2 is obvious.
