I see movies in the theater so infrequently that it's more about a night out with friends and less about seeing the actual movies. Definitely nothing wrong with going by yourself though.
There have definitely been a lot worse years for releases especially considering the new consoles being priority for all 3 companies. I'll also be welcoming any slow times as I have quite the backlog and want to start clean with the PS4 when it comes out.
Going to try and clear my last gen+Vita backlog before the new systems drop. Unfortunately there are a few mega-time sinks in there so it's looking a little doubtful.
Most games on the Vita are perfect for this and aren't limited to a genre or two. Unit 13, LBP:V, DJMAX, Dokuro, Wipeout, and AC:Liberation are a few from the top of my head. It also allows you to basically pause the game when you hit standby so you can continue at any time.
Rarely happens for me as most of the games I purchase are at least 10-15 hours long. I can handle sitting still that long during MP games like SSF4 or CS 1.6 but not single player games. Just takes too much effort to keep up with the story a lot of the time.
Already beat this in the past but decided to play through it, and the rest in the series, in preparation for Ascension. Really fantastic game with some of the best visuals and a few of my favorite moments this gen. I really hate to use the word "epic" but most of the boss fights and the general flavor of the game are very appropriate for that word. Only disappointment was the ending which felt a little mediocre given the magnitude of Kratos' adventure.
Didn't catch TNT but it sounds like the quotes in the OP are from different people. I never look down at fans, as I used to be and still am a bit of one, but the part about the old days definitely holds true for me. Many of the championships nowadays are meaningless like last year with the tag team championship match at Wrestlemania being during the preshow. Then there's incredibly talented wrestlers like RO getting nearly jobbered while shitty gimmicks like "brodus clay" get more attention than they deserve. Maybe it's nostalgia but the personalities of the late 90s and balance between plot and wrestling were much better than they've been over the last decade.
That said, all of my feelings go out the window during the rare visit to a live show, whether it be indie or not. Especially non-televised shows where the wrestlers are solely putting on a show for the audience. Those are the best and some of the most fun I have at any live entertainment event.
