Games I've Beaten

I recently beat this (writing this as of October 6, 2009) and it was awesome. Even never having played through Final Fantasy VII, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the characters. I have general knowledge about FFVII's story but not much beyond that. At some point I really do want to beat that too.
Uncharted 2 is phenomenal. From its stunning graphics to its interesting narrative to its much improved gameplay; this is the total package. When you add in competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes, there aren't many packages that approach how much fun you'll get out of this game.
Borderlands was by far the greatest co-op game of 2009. Just playing with three other friends and finding loot "Demanding satisfaction" and "Then you shall receive it" was great. The loot was awesome and stealing guns that your friends wanted was even better.
God of War III was a great game. Awesome visuals with the same time-tested combat from games earlier in the series, along with the ending of the Kratos storyline, added up to a game that was worth the money. On a side note the Nemean Cestus was awesome.
I am admittedly not a big fan of fighting games. However Mortal Kombat is the first fighting since Tekken 3 that I have absolutely loved. A great story mode, some hilarious fatalities, and Test Your Luck mode makes for a great game.
I feel that Portal 2 is better than Portal 1. With more gameplay mechanics and an extended story expanding the history of Aperture, Portal 2 is a fantastic experience.
Saint's Row is some crazy madness...all of the time. Between jets, pandas, and an autotuned comrade, you can't go wrong. The story in this game is the most pure fun I've had in a long time if not ever.
A lot of people really dislike this game; I am not one of them. Sure the linearity was a little much at times. Also only having two party members for a large chunk of the first part of the game was beyond annoying. However the story that this game tells and the mythology Square Enix created along with the most fun I've had with an RPG combat system since Legend of Dragoon makes this a great, but not excellent game.
Unlike what seems like everyone else, I'm not a fan of Batman. I picked up this game off of great reviews and many recommendations from friends. The combat system was entertaining, but I've already forgotten the story and I only beat it a couple of months ago.
Uncharted 3 was not as breathtaking at first glance as its predecessor, but that is not to say that it didn't look fantastic. The gameplay was refined down to near perfection and while there were some questionable story elements, it was a very fitting ending to Nathan Drake's PS3 trilogy.
This was a pretty fun downloadable game. I do feel like it dragged on a bit too long, but that is probably because the combat became overly tedious way too quickly for me. There was a lot of flash but not much substance.
Games like Enslaved that, almost go unnoticed, tend to be some of my favorite. This game flew under the radar and it was very good. Andy Serkis conveyed his usual quality of acting as Monkey. Also that ending is absolutely INSANE!
This is by far the best game in the series since the original back in 2001. Although I was disappointed as a Halo nerd with the lack of material from Eric Nylund's novel, the story of Nobel Six conveyed a sense of gravitas that leads into the original trilogy perfectly.
I played through the campaign of this in co-op with my friend and it was a blast. The multiplayer was underrated and was really odd but in the best possible way. I'm not a big Transformers fan and I thought this was great.
Did I beat this game? Yes. Do I remember the ending? Not really. I know there were a few different ones, but I was playing co-op with my friend and...well I just don't remember. We were too focused on our ludicrously looking guns...I love my bubbles M4.
I didn't think I'd like this game as much as I did, but I couldn't put it down. I started the first game and I've played Brotherhood but haven't finished either one of them. This game even drew me in enough to where I collected all of the feathers. REALLY? C'MON NOW!
Besides the unfortunately named 'Blow' and 'Suck' buttons which consist of the entirety of the gameplay, it was fun. Shatter has a short campaign, but this game is all about the high scores, which I'm not big on. All in all this is a perfect quintessential downloadable game.
