@turtlebird95: I'm not saying I'm not happy for SWERY, just that a game being free and the only requirement to getting that free game is paying for a service that tons of people already pay for makes it a tad less exciting and groundbreaking. Free downloads from Games With Gold won't effect the rest of the game being made or not.

I decided to watch the Evil Dead (2013) remake. I think this film is a bit underrated as many were decidedly going to hate it from the beginning because, "HOW DARE THEY!" Considering they went with trying to remake the first Evil Dead (more serious horror with only minor comedic "tweaks" here and there) I think that says a bunch about the direction they wanted to go.

I found it to be really fun, really gory, and one of the better straight horror films of the last several years. There were moments of purposeful absurdity, cringe inducing camera shots (in a good way), and cheer worthy "hero shots" that made it not only its own thing but a great homage at the same time. I do agree with the criticism that many of the actors weren't as good as they could have been, but I liked the lead actress (Jane Levy) and her onscreen brother (Shiloh Fernandez).

The biggest complaint that I had was I felt the film was a tad unsure how much of its own creature it was going to be. Some of its homage shots and camera angles felt like they were required to be in there? Both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell were producers, so this could have been thanks to them...I don't know. I appreciated how they at least went with some originality for why the people were actually at the cabin and why it was hard for them to believe the events unfolding.

I like this movie on different levels. Good horror film on its own and good remake: 4/5.

I agree and its why I haven't put serious thought into getting it. If I had a dedicated group of 3 friends to always play hunters with it would be one thing, but I don't. That being said, comparing this to something like L4D is only valid in very minor detail. L4D seems to have much more randomness involved. This is literally like playing an extended boss battle in every sequence; its a great game idea though and I hope it does well for them.

Like @pimpsandwich said, this isn't really that odd considering its a free game. I am willing to bet that 80% of the "players" got the game from Games With Gold. I do like how he said "players" and didn't say anything about how many copies were sold. Oh well, good for Swery.

Yeah, Screened had some great content on that site. Boy...I remember going back to that site after everything went down and I just couldn't do it: AT.ALL.

@panelhopper: Well the fact that the PS4, and Xbox 360, are on x86 architecture makes this a bit less likely in my opinion. The architectures aren't as constrictive as the last gen, especially in regards to the PS3.

Sorry, I'm seriously not trying to come off as hostile. I'm trying to make a point. The way we consume things is fucked. The money gets handed over first and then consumers get mad because they expected it to do whatever they wanted rather than what it actually promises it does.

I agree with you. People seem to think that they should be getting more everything for what little they pay for things.

First new game I bought for my Xbone was Sunset; its OK. I won't rave about the game because I think it makes some major missteps, but it lays the ground for something really cool that I hope they expound upon in a sequel. I don't think a trick system would have done anything positive for that game as it doesn't fully realize the systems it already has. This is probably one of the weakest selection of weapons that this developer has put together in recent memory. I cannot say I had fun shooting any weapon specifically; it was all just a matter of "well this weapon works best...whatever". Still, I like the game I just think its more a case of "should have been way better". Definitely not top 10 of the year for me, at all (still better than Destiny ;p) .

@kmg90: yeah, I've used it on the PC before but found the quality of the mic was really spotty compared to what it sounds like on the PS4. I used it during my 24 livestream and when going back to do some editing of the archive I noticed the mic sounded bad for some reason.
