As Patrick pointed out during his panel on internet bullying, not "feeding the trolls" isn't a solution, and neither is censorship, regulation, or prioritization. Hate finds a way.

If we want a better community, we have to insist on one. We have to learn to sense abusive behavior and ensure users who behave that way do not feel welcome here, and that they stand alone, not with the group. I'm sort of calling for bullying bullies: calling out abusive behavior, and reacting to massive attacks with massive defenses. Imagine how much good it would have done if we did our part to cancel out all the negative energy directed at Leigh, Samantha, and Maddy. Imagine if we as a site publicly denounced the attacks as they happened. Imagine if we had the empathy to apologize, regardless of our individual faults, because it's the compassionate thing to do. Imagine if we proved that those assholes are outliers, rather than just muttering to ourselves that they are.

If we don't speak for ourselves, other more-vocal individuals will, and we have no call to complain.

Leigh and Samantha should be expected to act like professionals, and ragging on the Giant Bomb crew is the opposite of professionalism. Simple as that.

Considering it's a company seller, the feedback rating is 99%, there are eight consoles available, and it's listed as New, I doubt it.

GamePads are available both from Nintendo ($140 plus shipping) and from eBay sellers. My expectation is that Nintendo will sell GamePads at retail next year.

An eBay seller lists a brand-new "replacement" Wii U deluxe console for $130. The catch: wires (<$5), manuals, sensor (compatible w/Wii sensor, I'm told), and GamePad ($150 for "replacement", possibly cheaper next year) are NOT included.

I know a GamePad is needed for initial setup - a friend of mine can lend his if it's only needed once - but my questions are:

Should I take up this offer?

If so, should I pay for the GamePad now, or wait until it's sold at retail? Also, what notable games require (or are greatly improved using) a GamePad?

For reference, I primarily wish to play (co-op) Super Mario 3D World this holiday, but Pikmin 3, Windwaker HD, and Smash Bros. are all eventual purchases, too.

Any advice is appreciated.

I was honestly disappointed that Vinny didn't take over regular hosting duties. He's simply so much more sociable and lighthearted, whereas Jeff is at his best when he's not pretending to be either sociable or lighthearted. Vinny also seems to enjoy a good conversation the way Ryan did, whereas Jeff is almost always focused on making a point or asserting an (often strong) opinion.

Finished every Mario game to 100% completion, except Bros. 2, Sunshine, and NSMBW.

Finished every Donkey Kong Country game to 100% completion, except Returns.

Caught Mewtwo. (Pokemon Blue)

Finished the first level of every Halo game on Legendary.

Accessed the Reverse castle w/o guide on first try (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night)

Developed two games of my own: one in Java, one in C. Doing a third in Unity/JavaScript.
