@xobballox: That's exactly why I did it with my first character, just wanted to have the STR and END to manage my heavy armor and Havel's Shield without Havel's Ring always on. I didn't overdo it though, and its really just a short cut to excessive forest grinding or late game area farming.

I had the most trouble with the Taurus Demon, because I forgot about the dive bomb attack from the tower, and was still getting used to the mechanics. I found that switching from a scimitar (I was Wanderer) to a lucky battle ax drop I landed made a huge difference, and allowed me to at least reach TD easier. Chaos Bed was probably the one that annoyed me most, because it was a long trek, I got some several summoned allies, and then they all immediately fell into the cracks opening up, or were torched by the AOE fire storms.

I can cook well, picked up a lot from parents and then working in and around kitchens for about 5 years. Stealing from others is the key to success I've found. I find it very relaxing to cook, and there's usually a good payoff too. I don't really dig baking, requires too much patience and not enough room for improv IMO.

I did this part on my first try, and found out later many struggled with it. I was wearing gold hemmed robes with the wood grain ring (super rolls, lets your travel really fast for a short burst), and just rolled/ran my way up, dispatched the archer on the right, and turned back to take out the one on the left. The arrows are very visible, so they're fairly easy to dodge. The worst thing you can do here is try blocking, since you'll just get pushed off and rage quit.

I found that the tentacle-headed monsters in the Duke's Archives are the easiest to farm humanity from. They drop about 1-3 per spawn, and are less than a minute from a bonfire, so you can maximize your farming efficiency. The only problem is this is fairly late game, post Anor-Londo.

I jumped past Frampt the first time he showed up, and when I came back, he said I wasn't the chosen and peaced out. I never attacked him, so I dunno what happened there. Also, accidentally hit Big Hat Logan in his cell in Duke's Archives, but that was on him, I had no way of knowing he wasn't another monster that I could whack through the bars. Broke Alvina's covenant and murdered all of her followers after trying for hours to invade and failing, decided I was better off having that spot back as a farming location. Also gave up a bunch of my dragon scales to the dragon covenant, and was never really successful in invading anyone to challenge them for dragon scales, so that sucked.

I rocked the Black Knight Halberd +5, took out Lord Gwyn in about 4 or 5 counter-attacks. That thing can 1 hit most enemies by the end with a crit, or a strong attack.

**Beware, if you don't want to know anything about the Duke's Archive!!**

They've been warned. So, I think I may have stumbled across the best place to farm humanity. After being imprisoned following the unbeatable boss fight (thanks for the lost souls there FROM), you are placed in the cell. From this cell, you can run down the staircase to where the tentacle-headed creatures all gather in one small room at the bottom. Wearing the Covetous Gold Serpent ring (which increases your drop rate x3), I managed to net at least 1-2 humanity each time from killing this group. All it takes is a short jaunt back up to the cell, hit the bonfire, and back down. You could probably average about 5 humanity every 10-15 mins. So far, this is the most plentiful supply I've seen.

*A few things to consider:

-Use of a long reach weapon is advised to stay out of their grab radius.

-Beware of the man-lizards dropping down from the platform above you while farming.

-Don't know if this is indeed the best spot, so if anyone knows of a better one feel free to share.

Just a heads up, it appears you receive the achievement tied to joining a covenant simply for selecting the dialogue option "Enter Covenant". You may then decline to enter without breaking your current covenant, and still receive the achievement. Maybe this should have been rolled into another thread, but some are getting pretty long now.

**Also, warning!!! The Rare Ring of Sacrifice says in the description that it will cure curse and break when you die wearing it. IT DOES NOT CURE CURSES! It will however break, leaving you to curse the developers/localizers for being dirty lying bastards.

I think I had the most difficulty with the Taurus demon, since I was still so new to the mechanics, and the bonfire was pretty far away from the bastard. I remember losing substantial amounts of souls at the time to him, but I did have the run up to his arena down after several infuriating hours.
