Gaming update: Holy carp, two in a row!

Okay, I could have easily put this in a non-gaming blog, but I didn't because I didn't feel like it.

It seems as if I have found a way to run System Shock 2 on my Vista, and thank god I can because it is still tied to be the greatest game ever released. It took me 8 months to manage to get a game run, and I got it running in 15 minutes. Yeah, I'm bloody impatient. If you want to know how to run it, go HERE and maybe even HERE and definitely HERE for the patch. Yes, you can get it to run perfectly, which is about the greatest thing that can possibly happen considering it is an older title (On the PC, an old title can be just a few years old). So if you've got a copy of the game, use these three sources to get it running again. You'll need it.

This has been a quick update for those who cannot run the game, this has been Snipzor, who is now going to play some System Shock 2.

Gaming Update, yeah I had no clue I did those either

It's nearly the end of week one in October (Week 1 for me anyways), and like I probably shouldn't because of a series of works I should probably complete for today for class, but I've got a pretty big update for gaming in general. So here we go, I'm quite new at this.

NEW GAMES+

Yeah I'm not proud of that one. Anyways. It has been quite a busy month and a bit in terms of buying games. I've got four Xbox 360 games in just one month, and that's a new record. Fair enough though, two of them are older games that cost just a few dollars, but still they are good games to have.

  • Dead Space
  • GRAW 1/2
  • Red Alert
  • Indigo Prophecy

Yeah I know Indigo Prophecy is an Xbox game, but there was only one way that I could purchase it. Anyways, each of these games are great, and for the first time I don't doubt purchasing a game. Sorry Scribblenauts, but you've lost the appeal quite quickly, that I often find myself return to playing a tower defense game on my Ipod Touch, and Wolfenstein, also on the same Ipod.

Semi review time (It's like a regular review, except in one paragraph)

As great as the idea is, I mean seriously, giving the user the ability to spawn everything and anything. There is one huge problem, people like me. I don't know about you, but when I have free reign to do whatever I want, I don't know what to do. I love sandbox games, but in the end I always just call up my buddies and we end up killing cops then play GTAIV (Wait, was that order right?). If you ask me to solve a puzzle with any means possible, I'll do one thing over and over again. You guessed it, spawn God and a shotgun. If not, a jetpack and some rope. The point is, some people are incredibly indecisive, and cannot handle using their own imagination because chances are we have a bazillion ideas in our head and we don't know what to pick. In fact, to play Scribblenauts hurts.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This brings me to another point, stop bashing on linearity, it is a stupid complaint. In reality, if given the opportunity, you would shit your pants if given a real open world. You would become bored of the same thing over and over again. Its nice to have boundaries, nice for me anyways.

This has been a short gaming update, and this is Snipzor signing off... well actually I stay online but that's besides the point.

Conservative Bible Project 2: Electric Boogaloo

Okay, this isn't about Conservapedia and their non-satirical insanity (They aren't satire Lies, sorry). This is about some art used to portray something... distasteful. Now at first glance, it isn't that bad... wait why is Satan right next to the liberals? Okay, you have to see this for yourself. Note, this is also religious wingnuttery.

[SNIPZOR CANNOT COPY/PASTA THE PAINTING, LINK HERE IN ENTIRE BRACKETS

Now what is this all about? Why do I, Snipzor the Shy, find this so offensive? Well because of the xenophobia and the Zionist behaviour in the painting itself and in the descriptions given in the painting itself. There is one theme that is plastered around the painting. "AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION, ANY PEOPLE WHO OPPOSE THIS ARE NOT REAL AMERICANS" is what I see. Look at the objects listed (Constitution, Papers on steps, Marine, The Professor holding "The Origins of Species", and the fact that Jesus Christ is holding the Constitution while being in the middle of symbolic American images is a good hint, oh yeah, Satan in the corner is a better one).

Now why did I place this next to the Conservative Bible Project? Well it has the same goal, change history and perspectives to make it seem as if the Christian religion was built for America. Yeah, very classy. Well there is also the tasteless inclusions of political ideology, but I don't care about this.

A simple question. Is this right-wing evangelical group honestly a part of a growing series of Anti-Intellectualism we can see all around the world, or is it merely a coincidence that they seem that way? Also, is the inclusion of Satan in any way something that can create a larger xenophobia to the people next to Satan? Is it prejudice to have the immigrant scared of Jesus?

That is all... for now.

Let's try that again, but with less gusto

Being a godless atheist, the good folks over at Conservapedia don't want me to talk about this. But I'm not on Conservapedia now am I?

On Conservapedia, they have something called "The Conservative Bible Project". Now what in the heck does that mean? Well it means that they are going to conservatise the bible (Well according to their beliefs), which is hard enough as it is, but here are the guidelines.

  1. Framework against Liberal Bias: providing a strong framework that enables a thought-for-thought translation without corruption by liberal bias
  2. Not Emasculated: avoiding unisex, "gender inclusive" language, and other modern emasculation of Christianity
  3. Not Dumbed Down: not dumbing down the reading level, or diluting the intellectual force and logic of Christianity; the NIV is written at only the 7th grade level
  4. Utilize Powerful Conservative Terms: using powerful new conservative terms as they develop; defective translations use the word "comrade" three times as often as "volunteer"; similarly, updating words which have a change in meaning, such as "word", "peace", and "miracle".
  5. Combat Harmful Addiction: combating addiction by using modern terms for it, such as "gamble" rather than "cast lots"; using modern political terms, such as "register" rather than "enroll" for the census
  6. Accept the Logic of Hell: applying logic with its full force and effect, as in not denying or downplaying the very real existence of Hell or the Devil.
  7. Express Free Market Parables; explaining the numerous economic parables with their full free-market meaning
  8. Exclude Later-Inserted Liberal Passages: excluding the later-inserted liberal passages that are not authentic, such as the adulteress story
  9. Credit Open-Mindedness of Disciples: crediting open-mindedness, often found in youngsters like the eyewitnesses Mark and John, the authors of two of the Gospels
  10. Prefer Conciseness over Liberal Wordiness: preferring conciseness to the liberal style of high word-to-substance ratio; avoid compound negatives and unnecessary ambiguities; prefer concise, consistent use of the word "Lord" rather than "Jehovah" or "Yahweh" or "Lord God."
Now if you've read the bible, you would know that it isn't exactly kind to free thought (Up until Jesus that is). How the hell are they going to manage to deal with Jesus curing the sick and giving away all of his money, and other stuff Jesus did? It's pretty big, after all, Christianity was founded because of that one guy. How will they conservatise Jesus? How in the hell are they going to manage the whole Republican Jesus thing when it is quite clear that he despised everything the people at conservapedia represent? Good question, they'll probably throw the whole thing out is my guess. Either that or manage to have him carry a gun with him at all times, while espousing free market parables and anti-abortion slogans. Enjoy.

Until next time, this has been Snipzor, good night.

CZAR WARS Episode II

I'm going to keep this very short because I'm not in the mood to writing a two page blog again after my computer crashed as soon as I finished it. So I'll keep this short and sweet.

The republicans are losing their shit again and it is now with the "Safe School Czar" (Look for the name on the list I provided) Kevin Jennings. In fact, I predicted this. Now there are two reasons why they are going after them. He is part of Obama's administration, but also because he essentially told republicans to "Fuck off". So what do they respond with? They call him a supporter of pedophilia and rape. I won't even bother to put citations because you can find a bazilion clips on Youtube, of the Hyper-conservatives and Fark Independents being classless as usual. All of this because he essentially promoted the use of condom/safe sex (Not that the republicans know what that is, context was deleted with the crash) to a 16 year old student of the school he worked at. Fun fact, 16 is the age of consent where he was at. What do the republicans do to counter this factual point? They say he was fifteen, despite how he was sixteen, they are blatantly lying so they can call a gay member of Obama's administration a supporter of rape and pedophilia. Oh yeah, and he's also going to promote homosexuality to kids.

Well you know what, fuck you, that's what I think. I'm fucking tired of this bullshit, and it is driving me mad. Give me a second to air out.
*Goes to republican governor in Maine*

I feel much better already. Oh yeah, that clip is in celebration of Charlie Brooker's new programing "Gameswipe" which I will only have good access to because of the Let's Player on Youtube by the name of "xthemusic" who hosts all of the episodes. Awesome.

That's pretty much it really, I'm too repulsed by the fucking republican party to even be on coherent speaking terms with them. Blahbleihfisbnekwia to the republican party. Or you can email Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh to collectively fuck themselves with a loofah. That's all for today, Good Night. Have a good masturbate.

Good to be back.

Four days in America, and it has been good. Great scenic view, excellent food, long drives. Amazing time, but as promised I would hit the ground running and regardless of the fact that the term is a misnomer as hitting the ground running only makes people fall down, I'm gonna try it anyways.

But before, let me state that Flatbread Company in Maine, as it had easily the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Go there right now and get a flatbread pizza, do it right now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That aside, local politics. As I spent most of my time in Maine, I was available to local ads. Unfortunately the embarrassingly bad ads weren't there (How unfortunate), but I did get to witness the Proposition 1 adverts in Maine and I was swift to correct the bull. If you are in Maine, vote No on 1. Putting even that aside, I watched far too much Fox News while gone and there is no debate. Pure propaganda, absolutely disgusting.

Also there was the news that a census worker was found dead in Kentucky (Cook County), and there is a debate going on. Was it committed by a few drug runners, or a conservative libertarian/anarchist. Now being the neutral losers that they are, the media decides it appropriate to both never talk about it or bring up no conclusive evidence that was found. Being inquisitive in nature, I already know that it wasn't committed by drug runners, mainly because they wouldn't display his corpse with so many elaborate messages for the media and people to see. So I don't know why we bother to tiptoe through this story, it is pretty damn obvious it was done by a conservative anarchist who watches Fox News (100% sure). Why? Because where do we hear the crap about how census workers are nazis and all that horse malarkey? Only one place, so there is no damn point to be neutral, it's all a lie anyways.

Another story is about the kids that sang an indoctrinating song about Obama, I don't know about you, but I also don't buy it. But for a good reason. If you are familiar with the story, you would know something is up. Read the lyrics, now why are they worded exactly like that. But also why is it being filmed and why is it that there are no other people besides the kids singing? This makes zero sense on its own merits, so I'm calling foul play.

To play us out, here's Frank Zappa with his satirical 1980's song entitled "Valley Girls". Enjoy and it is good to be back.

Fun times in Portland, Maine!

Portland! Oh, hello there, this is now day three (Two if you don't consider a night a day) in America. The first day was filled with travel, and only two meals. A pizza, and a delightful sandwich in Vermont (Not necessarily in that order). The music of choice in travel? The soundtrack of .hack, Starcraft, Diablo II, Braid, and the music of Frank Zappa. It took three hours to get from a Super 8 in Vermont, to an airport hotel in Portland. Damn the Clarion (I don't mean that).

Today will be filled with a hippy pizza joint, and Henry & Marty's Restaurant which is about 30 minutes outside of Portland. The first real meals of the trip.

Alas, we have yet to see a White Castle or Wendy's. How sad. And in my travels, I have temporarily gone by New Hampshire and I ask myself, who the hell came up with the slogan?! It scared me. Finally, I watched Fox News for the second time in my life. In this time of insanity it is nice to know that they keep up their own brand of it. When I return, political opinions of the going ons in the states I visited (Consciously visited). This has been Snipzor, requesting you to live free or pay the admen fee which tiny whereas the MASSIVE YAUGHT is worth thousands. Good night.
