Well I killed DeFalco (sniped him before he scaped) and let Farid die to save the other guy and Karma died anyway being shot in the server room :(

Yeah, it seems you really have to sacrifice Harper if you want to save Karma. Kind of a bummer.

Side note: Anyone know how to get the "Showdown" achievement? The only thing I haven't tried is keeping Karma, Mason and Menendez all alive at the end of the game, I think.

Let Defalco escape (and don't do the Strike Force mission that lets you recapture Chloe), then have Farid kill Harper. In the Obama server room, DeFalco and Farid take each other out, getting you the achievement.

My choice is 'it's a goddamn video game, who cares?'.

Unfortunately, Kotaku. A good 80% of their content is godawful (and that's being generous), but usually they're one of the first sites for news or trailers - if anything I actually use them to find out what news is, and then go elsewhere for reporting on it. I don't visit IGN often, but I follow them on facebook and get some news from their page too. But Eurogamer are also quickly becoming one of my go to places not just for news, but editorial content - they have some really good stuff up every once in a while.

I get my WoW-news from WoW Insider, and general MMO stuff from Massively too, because like hell would they get coverage on GB. But for stuff like gameplay footage, or video content in general, I come to Giant Bomb.

Yeah, I agree with others that ME3 will probably be swept under the rug or out of focus for most places GOTYs, because of the ending controversy. You know if anyone puts it somewhere near the top of their list, there'll be people screaming at how it doesn't deserve it or whatever - which is a shame, because messiness of that endgame aside, I really enjoyed ME3, and the MP was perhaps one of the biggest surprises of the year merely in the fact it wasn't the utter disaster everyone expected it to be.

Aside from that, I think fighting games will have a rough time getting recognition this year. SFxT was a good game, but tripped itself up between the flat out broken Online and the On disc DLC stuff, and then well-received games like Tekken, DOA and P4A (although I can't personally attest to that last one, as Atlus hates my filthy Europe-money) are probably all under the radar enough that they'll be pushed aside by bigger titles.

@dkdance100: Level 41 (Brigadier I believe) - The rank symbol is just a single 5-point star.

Re-did my Giant Bomb logo from the first Blops! nice that it's easier to do complex stuff from the get go, thanks to not having to buy more layers. I'm going to replace the star with a closer lookalike you unlock at Level 41 when I get there, but for now I'm relatively pleased with it.

This was my GB emblem from the orginal, dare I say legendary Blops I emblem thread, for comparison:

Yeah, I'm not bothered by the endings, and am interested to wait and see what happens. I'm more interested in seeing them pick up where any of those endings left off, especially with the context given by the EC stuff (which I think really should've been in the game in the first place, and I wasn't even really angry about the original endings in the first place), and without Shepard in the lead. I wouldn't want a prequel, really. Also:

Narrows from Halo 3, or any version of Facing Worlds from the UT series. I guess I have an appreciation for symmetrical, two base maps.

Spartan A077

SR-40 now, Looking forward to getting to 50 to finish off my 'ideal' look - just need the Rogue spec shoulders, the X-27 shifting gauntlets and the Orbital chest. I might switch my helmet to either EOD or maybe Enforcer, but on the whole I really dislike most of the helmets. They don't look like Spartans to me, they look strangely robotic or something.

MW3, which I initially liked, but soured on over time, especially as the DLC stuff got so weird thanks to portioning it off for Elite and whatnot, some maps out this day for X group, this day for Y group, then this 1 map is out at another time for everybody... I didn't really come back to it to try that stuff out because I had no real idea when it was actually dropping.

Picking up Blops II tomorrow, and rather excited for it. Strangely I don't really consider myself a CoD fan, but I've actually bought all of them since World at War! In the future though I think I'm just going to go for the Treyarch-made ones. I've been consistently impressed with the stuff Treyarch have done with Call of Duty from WaW onwards, and increasingly frustrated with IW's arrogance and refusal to acknowledge Treyarch's inputs, just because they're (or 'were', now, as they're a shadow of their former selves) the 'main' developer.
