@Napalm: Yakuza: Of The End was delayed because of the tsunami disaster. Something about releasing what's essentially a disaster game, during that exact time of an actual disaster, didn't sit very well.
The game was released in Japan though. No word on an English release but there hasn't been any indication that it won't be.

As for the question both Yakuza 3 and 4 can easily hit up to a triple digit playtime, if you decide to Platinum or do everything.

I've been on blog hiatus for a few months now. I'm starting back up again, and I will gladly join this...thing.

play nier, you should be able to get it cheap

I love Nier, but he said no grind. Even if the main quest line is piss easy, the side quests take a forever amount of grinding.

It's still a good selection though: The side-quests are virtually not required. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that his disinterest in grinding, is that he gets tired from having to do a monotonous task over-and-over again in-order to progress. You could virtually ignore the quests in Nier and progress. So it shall go on-to the list!

*writes Nier down with permanent pen*

This is the part where I get on a ledge and scream Xenoblade at your face until I get blue, sadly that's on Wii, plus you need to hack it/emulate if you want to play it in North America. Then there's Lost Odyssey with it's level-cap, but that's on 360...
Even so, the good news is that looking at your platform preference, it should be noted you have a ton of selections. Final Fantasy XIII sounds right up your alley regarding your tastes. In regards to your interests of real-time battle systems, there's the Star Ocean franchise and stuff Level-5 has done including Rogue Galaxy.

Perhaps it's because I never subscribed to the idea that Demon Souls online design was something extensional, that what was in that game was more akin to an antiquated manner of communicating to other players online, versus some substantial to the experience.
But even if you would subscribe to that opinion, the idea for disabling all cross-game chat is difficult to wrap your head around. I've used it quite frequently, and even under the pretense of it might detracting from the experience, I have difficulty understanding it's implementation...Or in this case, lack of implementation.

So what's to stop me from jumping on Ventrillo and chatting there? Either way people will find a way around it which pretty much makes banning party chat a useless idea.

@vidiot: Atlus JP rereleased a PS1 game in 2011. What worked back then, doesn't fly now, and unlike any final fantasy game, P2 is not a timeless classic -- but a janky, broken game. A lot of issues it had could have been easily fixed and should have been.

Piracy is completely irrelevant to this conversation.
Sure.

@QuistisTrepe: dude, it's still stealing. I don't care what kind of spin you give it. You still stole it. Honestly buying this one would make up for the fact that you did (and many others) But whatever duder, it's still stealing but *claps* yay your a best paying customer?

What the fuck does this have to do with his point? Nothing, that's what.  Also, downloading a 12 year old PSX game is about as morally objectionable as jaywalking.
Actually that point is quite valid
While Atlus never published one-half of Persona 2 outside of it's native territory, to complain that one would invalidate the entire release based upon a fan-translation is difficult to justify. Usually when ports are haphazardly released, the justification is that you had already purchased said product for it's originally intended hardware. The reasoning to spend more money on what's essentially the same game you already own is understandable: You should scrutinize every aspect of it, does a new quickly-made dungeon with color-palate swapped enemies, justify you purchasing Final Fantasy IV for the billionth time?

From at least a North American consumer, this reasoning for Persona 2 is almost null. You haven't wasted anything if you pick up this version of Persona 2, granted you haven't had a choice in the manner for over a decade ( or not), but to discredit the release because you pirated the thing like everybody is kinda broken logic.  Being upset at how long it has taken for an official release is one thing, but being upset that it doesn't offer enough beyond some nebulous justifiable scale, regarding new content is a bit ridiculous. This is especially confounding considering there have been multiple updates in this version, and it looks like a pretty decent port job.

So what say you, Giant Bomb community? Are you satiated by the changes EA has made?

No.
There was this really interesting opinion making the rounds at PAX that we should be comparing Origin to the early days of Steam, how every new digital distribution service has growing pains.

I found the Steam comparison incredibly problematic though. There was nothing to compare Steam to at the time, plus unlike Origin: I remember small fractions of actual good news regarding the service when it was first being kicked around. That hasn't happened to Origin...At all. I've been completely turned-off by this thing. I haven't read a single thing that might interest me into actually giving this thing a try. It's infuriating that their flagship title on the PC is stricken with this half-baked idea. Hopefully there will be a way to get rid of it if you want to play Battlefield 3.

@benpicko: @vidiot: Sorry that never happened.

Are you trying to tell me that twitter has deceived me once again?

Uh- I can vouch for the announcement...Given the whole: "I was there when they deliberately said it", unless there are new rules for...Reality.

That being said, the specific game was not announced.

While waiting for the GiantBomb panel to start, Vidiot and myself stepped into a demonstration of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which was way more awesome than it had any right to be.

IF THAT SUSHI PLACE ISN'T OPEN I WILL...I dunno...Kinda...Be a little upset.

Third time is the charm.

That panel was actually tons of fun. The voice actor for Ezio complemented Adam Sessler on his non-existent good looks. Really funny stuff.
