Like most of us know, skyrim got 9.75's, and 10.0's. And I think it deserved them. Faults be damned. Other people played skyrim for 15 minutes, shrugged. And moved on. Game informer, and most importantly the actual people who write for it - Are just like me, or any other user. They give mass effect 3 a 100 because that person playing it think's it deserves 100. If they where paid off, let us judge the facts as they come.

I think skyrim is a flawed game that deserves 9.9/10. Right now at least one of you is tsk'ing at me. "What a joke, skyrim is a buggy game". Sure it's that as well. Yet here we are with out extremely subjective viewpoints that we are willing to defend.

I don't believe the majority of reviews are paid off, I believe that some are. And we should not group everyone in the same bundle. Instead we should just go "oh, this specific critic likes it, what else did they like?" "Oh, they loved skyrim as well". Them giving it a high score might just be useful information for me.

If we do anything beyond that, and make wide sweeping statements about everything being corrupt, crap, or whatever else. It really does achieve nothing. We should dedicate that time, that effort, into looking for people we are compatible with taste wise.

I like WS's intentions here. It's the artistic road of evolving yourself. Writer charlie kaufman wrote the incredible 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' and then he matured and made Synecdoche, New York and arguably more heavy handed film that intentionally lacked the vitality of ESOTSM. This is a bad comparison at first glance, since epic mickey is a traversal into "childrens imaginations via an unfortunately conventional means" and SNY was the polar opposite. However I find both to be elementally similar.

It's the creator of something exploring a side of themselves they earned. Warren likely takes a lot of this from connections of love, and CK more is weary eyed journey.

My problem with this artist evolution, is that I generally find the 'younger less wise' approach to construct new ground - and these 'evolved' approaches feel like more of a whim.

Deus ex stands as one of the greatest games of all time, and I would argue ESOTSM is one of the best films. Does this mean we need new talent to further innovate? Possibly. I always hoped that a man of 40 or 50 could be that same youthful innovator.

Well.... I did like eyes wide shut. There is always that.

Me = Sydney = Occasionally see a spider.

I hate spiders, probably more than most of you having reactions to them. I get bothered by a big spider, about 2 or 3 times a year. And I keep my windows open almost all the time.

My main issue with AU is the heat and the ever increasing pricing of houses. 15 years ago you could get a place for 100,000 - 300,000. Now it's 1,000,000 for a dump.

I did not like the tradeoff dungeon seige 3 made. Safe and bug free is worse than ambitious and flawed when it comes to rpg developers who have aimed for the same level of scope as bethesda's elder scrolls/fallout games. Even if they essentially took the roots of those games and game engine and re-purposed them.

Fallout new vegas is one of my all time favorite games. And I really hoped that obsidian would do another fallout game. This is a huge dent against that possibility, at the very least a dent in the timeframe.

I like that Patrick Klepek is part of giant bomb. I dig his unique happenings. This whole thing sounds interesting in a quirky/potentially creative way.

Fallout new vegas is one of my top games this generation. Naturally I am devastated. I was always secretly hoping they would make another fallout game using the skyrim/fallout engine.

Now those hopes are dashed.

After reading these comments I have come to some firm ground in my judgement of giant bomb users.

Most of you are not closed minded sheep-people. And actually hold viewpoints that are your own. Rather than someone else's.

Thus, you bunch are alright.

- Pc's are about a clearer output. In every respect. Resolution, framerate, detail, precision, speed. Do these things matter? If they don't. Get a console.

There is a barrier of entry. What you actually get in terms of better quality has to mean the world to you. You need time, and dedication to actually become a user able to overcome problems inherent to pc's within seconds rather than hours.

If you see a pc gamer running a high resolution and a high framerate and go, "meh" or "yeah, i'd like that, so long as it's always easy". Then a console is the best choice. Always.

If you want that yourself with a passion, seeing someone run a game a 1920x1080 or 2560x1600 or 120hz blows your mind, and makes you crave what you believe is an mindblowing jump in fidelity and smoothness. Then that passion will drive you to spend the money required to achieve that and the time required for learning how to troubleshoot a pc - without asking people in a forum. You will simply know you want that. You will catalyze all of that yourself automatically.

My screen is 2560x1600 @ 30inch. So no, it's not higher resolution. However what alex said remains true - about it being higher resolution than most users screens.

The thing is, it's kind of pointless. That's like saying I have to hook up my really expensive screen to a really low end pc (at best). Nothing would shine in even remotely the same way. Plus it can only play iphone games. Most of which probably won't run at a 1:1 ratio of that resolution. Video memory requirements become huge once you start heading into that screen resolution territory.

What I look forward to is the day they start downporting pc games (or console games at a higher resolution) to the ipad - and the ipad is powerful enough to justify that at 60fps.

That will be the day I go from my black and white, 40 dollar nokia phone to an ipad.
