I don't want to be abusive and aggressive like some pc gamers. However I really want this to come to pc. If I just stuck to my xbox and ps3 for years after they came out - I would more easily be able to tolerate 720p @ (let's be honest here) 24.7fps. However, the truth of the matter is that once you go up, going down is extremely hard. At least in my case.

Surely some of you can relate to that? Imagine that you upgraded from a tube television strait from 1993 to a wall sized OLED television running at 1000hz and 7680x4320 resolution. Then people said "shut up and just play the game on the crt television and be happy with it, or else you are a fucking snob"

For weeks, you would suffer from eye strain, possible headaches, the adjustment would counteract the entire game's enjoyment.

That's where I am at with GTAV. And that's why I am disappointed in a lack of pc version. It's not that I don't want to play the game, and it's not that I won't put up with 20-something fps and less than a quarter of the refresh rate and resolution - it's the consequences of doing so. And that's where the distinction between "snob" and "actual issue" come into play.

And sure, there might be a lot of people who are just like "why should i play inferior version" - I am fully willing to play the inferior version. SIGN ME UP. Seriously. I just don't want eyestrain. I am a headache prone person, and long term clarity and motion changes take me a while to adjust.

Instead of saying "bro, you need to see a doctor about that" , maybe just sympathise that some people need the pc version of this game for 'other than pride' reasons.

I always feel that pc gamers get the raw end of the judgemental stick. If console gamers had a franchise start on the consoles, then it got moved to the pc as the primary platform - I think they might just get annoyed if we said "meh, who cares" when they voice their opinion on the matter.

Firstly. There is no tessellation option in borderlands, nor is there any 'hardware' tessellation.

Secondly, if you think the first borderlands runs well. This will probably have 10-25% higher requirements with settings at low/medium. A screenshot of the graphics settings on the steam forum for borderlands 2, had a "view distance" slider (borderlands 1 never had one). This might help bring it back to a borderlands 1 level of performance if it does require more.

Thirdly, what is run? People always say "run". You might get the game to boot, but what is an acceptable level of performance? 14fps? 200fps? Run. Is vague. I always go into a forum, someone says "It runs well". What does that even mean? Brings me back to when I came into my uncles house to help him set up a firewall, he was playing the original witcher (good on him, it's a great game), and he was getting 8fps. I was literally pulling my hair out. I went into the options to lower the settings, and he stopped me, and said "it runs fine"

Sorry for the rant. I hope you do get the game running at 30fps at the least. I think people deserve 30fps.

Worst case, you can always edit the ini that comes with the game. Or lower the resolution further. From what I remember borderlands 1 was actually more cpu bound than gpu bound. So think about that as well.

And physx is not a gimmick. Not any more than any other graphical feature for the game is. It's an exclusive feature. I say that as a longterm amd user. Just like any other graphical setting, it adds depth and spectacle to the games visuals - which in turn are a key component of any game.

Jeff will likely give it 4 stars, yet talk about it more than he ever did syndicate. The critic in him will go "this was wrong with the game", yet the subjective "funlover" in him will go "weeeeeeeee, that was fun, fun fun fun. Weeeeeee"

In that sense, I kind of wish jeff was more subjective. Not on the same level as say, jim from demonoid. But still subjective enough to let the fun win. Rather than the devil/critic on his shoulder.

"It has a bug! Give it 4 stars"

Don't listen to that punk on your shoulder jeff, he's trying to mislead you. BE FREE!!!

Let the power animal slide.

@AhmadMetallic: Hard to articulate. The immersion, the music, the design of the world. It made me feel like I was living in this fantasy 'place'.Many other games felt like placeables on a heightmap.

The myst filled mountains, the jagged peaks jutting into the golden horizon. And whips of smoke hovering over a valley. The way the landscape 'felt'. The world was like a character of it's own.

Which is not to say that skyrim is the only game that made me feel like I was part of a living world. Red dead redemption did much the same thing, however it was 'by design' more barren, it drew closer parallels to real life. And thus it being a game became all the more apparent.

Skyrim felt, for lack of a better word, epic. It felt like the world had purpose. It was dirty, and magical, and beutiful in only a way a realization of something can be.

And sure, it had a laundry list of issues. Many of which I remedied on the pc via rather incredible and comprehensive mods. But with the exception of a few 'revert to previous savegames' - that almost seemed 'besides the point'.

I enjoy being lost in a world that believes in itself, I love a touch of magic hidden behind the curtains, and I love freedom. These elements combined in a way that made me happy to just 'exist' and 'roam' around. For hundreds of hours. With my mouth slightly open.

I like being optimistic, and let's face it. Dragon age origins was fantastic.

They totally understand that dragon age 2 had a huge reaction to it's more limited scope, short length, and recycled elements. They either fix it, or they don't .Imo, mass effect 3 was a far higher quality sequel to mass effect 2 - than dragon age 2 was to dragon age origins. We know bioware can put together a great sequel. Will they? I don't know. Time will tell.

Also, even a corrupt, console focused bioware game is better than a lot of other games out there. They still know how to tell an emotional and involving story.

I don't own a controller. I should probably get one.

I'll be playing with a keyboard and mouse. @2560x1440@130hz (Check 120hz.net if you don't believe in that combination)

Skyrim - One of the few games to make me feel a constant sense of awe. People disagree. But hey, it's a viewpoint folks.

Bioshock - Enveloping, elements of some of my favourite game's, with a genuinely unique setting.

Planescape Torment - You won't find a more mature narrative in gaming.

Heavy Rain - I am a SERIOUS film buff, and I think despite some game related flaws, this is on par with some fantastic films. I am more in things for the 'experience' rather than if they are technically a game or not.

Deus Ex - Nomatter how much wide spread appreciation this game get's, it will always be under appreciated to me. This game is about moment-to-moment options. True, legitimate, intelligent, options. Masterpiece is an understatement. This game reinforced my standpoint as a gamer. It's the 'fightclub' of the gaming world. Imo.

Spec ops the line - I don't like this as a game. What it does with it's narrative however, is bold and interesting.

Bastion - Something about this game was filled with love. This game had a heart. A soul. And it was a great indie game with strong gameplay to boot.

That's just SOME. The list other other games I have thought where near-masterpiece is in the hundreds. And there are plenty more games that I think are true masterpieces that I have not listed here. This list is just a few that came into my head strait away. Persona 4, Silent hill when it was fresh, Morrowind, Zelda. The list goes on and on.

Hell, even shallow things like borderlands I found to be pretty incredible. And put aside my hate of grindy-repetition so I could enjoy finding loot with friends.
