Say what you want about Schafer's games (In this case Brütal Legend), Robert is a total prick, has been a total prick, and will be forever even after his death a total prick.

Yeah, of course he neglects to mention two salient points; 1. Activision tried to stop the game mid production when they were worried that it might eat into Guitar Hero sales and 2. Activision tried to sue EA to prevent the game's release once EA were beginning to preview to selected press. It's easy for kottick to sound like he was correct because the game got som mixed reviews, but those reviews don't change the fact that he and Activision are pricks. "

Brutal Legend sucked, and the reason why it sucked is that it ninja ambushed me with RTS. I don't particularly like RTS games, and I especially don't like them on the consoles.

It's fairly clear to see what side the source's bread is buttered on. It says Kotick "slammed" Schaefer. No...he didn't. Schaefer called him a prick and Kotick responded with facts. That's not a slam, that's a basic defense. I'm not saying Kotick's a stand-up guy or anything, but you've gotta pick your battles or you just wind up looking silly.

Brutal Legend was marketed to trick people into thinking it wasn't just a shitty multiplayer RTS with a decent 3 hour story.  So I basically agree 100%

It's incredibly funny how easily people are fooled by double speak (corporate, political or otherwise) and this is no exception. People decided to take Bobby Kotick's words for complete and utter truth and in the process made massive assumptions themselves about the dealings that Activision had with Double Fine. Yeah, Kotick is a business man, and THAT is exactly why you can't trust a single thing he says. "

Bobby Kotick talk's so much shit because his ass is where his face should be.

I think context is important for all of this. When Schafer called Kotick a "prick" he also said that Kotick not only cares only about making money instead of inspiring good game-making but also makes it clear that that is his position on the industry and Schafer didn't think that attitude was good for the games industry.

Yep, still a prick. There's more to the story than Double Fine failing to deliver, and Kotick knows it.

I think Schafer's games try too hard and just don't appeal to my sense of humor. Grim Fandango being the exception. Games like Psychonauts and Brutal Legend's humor just sound like shit socially retarded high school kids would say. So yeah, fuck the two of them as far as I'm concerned.
