Quick Look: Gamecock Demos Legendary

Did you see how there was no visible damage on the Griffin? Brad kept shooting it in the face and there is just nothing, then he set it on fire... and it didn't even.. catch fire... oh man and the running around in circles shooting at it until it fell over... sigh.. I WAS excited about this game..

aren't developers supposed to make their game look GOOD?

When I first saw the hand I thought instantly Bioshock, it looked cool until he got the gun, the gun seems like it's not doing anything, and wtf the griffin took a milion bullets.

The game definately looks like it deserves at least a rental.  I'm not going to judge the game based on a few minutes of gameplay footage.  It's a fps people!  What the hell are you expecting?

Looks like a mediocre game that rips off way too many other good games.

the game has potential, still needs a bit of work but potential exists.

Wow, the game looked somewhat average and forgettable but the presentation by the Gamecock employees was awesome. (a three way fight!)

It looks alright, but Mike Wilson, I mean how can you argue with anything that guy does?

I'm sorry, but this game looks terrible. It's a cool concept (if kind of derivative) but the execution was just really poor. The gryphon's animation looked straight out of Clash of the Titans, I couldn't tell if Brad was hurting it or what until it just died, the frame rate is garbage, and was that gun using a silencer, and if so, why? The only thing that I thought was cool was the car beast.

The developers seemed to realize their game might not be fun, hence the endless stream of yuk-yuks and dude yelling "Oh God!" every 15 seconds. Helps distract the mind from the onscreen offal.

Too Human took forever to develop and just prior to its release I was ready to write it off… I was just waiting for (but NOT rooting for) the implosion upon its release. Then the "Denis Dyack vs. NeoGaff" thing happens and I suddenly found myself oddly pulling for Silicon Knights to come out with THE Underdog of the Year, simply because of all the backlash it seemed to be getting. Though most reviews generally seem to agree it’s only a DECENT game I STILL plan on buying it, even though I wasn’t planning to just a couple of months prior…

The first time I saw Legendary I thought it looked kinda cool with a neat premise… Then I see this video and I must admit it actually turned me OFF on the game a little. Not saying I won’t purchase it BECAUSE of the video, but… Hell, it didn’t really look all that fun… It looked slow… And nothing about it seemed fresh at all… (The graphics did look pretty sweet at times though)

And the guys in the video seemed kinda… well… Fake. Like “look at us hanging out in Grandmas living room, drinking some 40’s and playing super-cool video games… No stuffy suits here! Just being normal everyday dudes! We love gratuitous violence, generic shooters, and self-deprecating humor that doesn’t appear to be funny to anyone but us. F’Yeah!”

One day I’m thinking Too Human will be a mess… So bad it will undoubtedly brick my system… The next I’m planning on buying it. Couple of days later, I think what a cool game Legendary COULD be, then one live walkthrough later *poof* - DELIRIOUS fanboy enthusiasm gone.

What a difference a week can make... 

That demo was great. You guys must've had a blast with them.
Mike Wilson was hilarious. Makes me want to purchase the game just to support these guys.
The game looks cool but, judging from the 4 pages of comments, I may be the only one who feels that way. lol

Looks okay.  not original and pretty linear, but the apocalypse in the beginning is very well done.  Great editing Vinny

i appreciate gamecock showing off the game to gb visitors and their enthusiasm  for the game, but this game just looks dumb.

This is made by spark unlimited which made the really bad Turning Point. And this game just looks hideously crap.

Monsters look really cool and the scale of that huge car-thing looked awesome. And Im always up for any kind of apocalypse. BUT. As said before, the game didnt look very polished. Charactermodels look blend, weapons look quite average and the level design would make ID software cry. I dunno. Might pick it up as a rental still..

I played it @ Leipzig and it´s bad. Really bad.

I love the solid state fabric and excessively long gun that doesn't look like fun to shoot with at all.

At least the gamecock guys lived up to their names. They also look like fun drunks.

The game looks allright, it seems like the kinda game you need to play for yourself before you judge.

I am getting many vibes of Bioshock... except worse.

Bioshock meets HellBoy 2 and Pans Labyrinth. Not too shabby though... looks entertaining enough for a weekend rental.

The game has some nice texturing, but it's hard not to think of it as aggressively average... still one could do a lot worse...

This game definitely needs more polish otherwise it looks like a last gen game. I didn't like the video.

Commentary wasn't too funny, kind of tried to hard. Either way the game looks decent, I'm sure it will be polished over time. The concept is good, similar to Turning Point, but if it turns out like Turning Point I don't doubt everyone will be dissapointed.

I thought that was very, very generic.

The whole thing with the hand makes me want to play Bioshock.... other than that I might check it out. I hope they have a demo for it first...

I was really excited about this game, but after watching the video it just looks like another generic shooter.
I thought the idea behind Gamecock was about publishing somehow original games, not constrained by the old tired formulas.
Mushroom Men still looks cool though :)
