Quick Look: Burnout Paradise: Big Surf Island

I am going to finish the main part first and then I'm going to get this pack because it looks freaking sweet.

Man you want some over the top visuals.  In all truth Burnout was about racing down a road and knocking the other guy into the wall fighting for 1st place.  This Burnout which isn't bad lost a little bit of that aggressive feel when they decided to make it a sand box racing game with no boundaries and a lot of looking at a map while your going 200 mph.  Not bad and still some fun but I would love for them to go more towards what made them famous in the first place.

ok ok maybe .. MAYBE .. its worth the Microsoft Points after all ...

Will buy it next week I think. Or the week after :p

I was just in the hanging around, and I decided to watch this video.

Been waiting for this update to come out.  Looking for an excuse to play this game again.  Think I'm gonna try and get 100% achievements.  "S Rank" as we GiantBomb users call it.

Costs too much, I'd pay $5 for it but for $12 I can pick up a decent game on Steam.

What I really want though, is some proper Motorstorm DLC. The fact that it ISN'T an open world racer is a major plus. I'm avoiding open world racers unless they can fix the usual navigation annoyances that detract from the racing itself.

That said I did finish all the original Burnout Paradise events. It was a blast.

everytime i see a new burnout quicklook i feel like buying it, but theres so much stuff to download now, i feel kind of overwhelmed

These GL's are becoming shorter and shorter. Still an awesome feature though :)

Brilliant DLC. Can't stand the soundtrack to BP, mind.

This was a great sample of the exciting content in the pack.
Unfortunately Jeff and Ryan's assessment of how to access Big Surf Island was not entirely correct.
Anybody can drive around the island by downloading the new patch to the game. Doing so will immediately grant you the buggy and access to the island. When you pay the money, you will then get access to the new achievements, credit for the smashes, jumps, and other cars available. The ninth car in the island pack is only unlocked after completing all 500 online challenges.

Still waiting for the PC version!

got it yesterday, spent a good 3 hours doing all the smashables now cruising round in my janson 88 special toy :) its a bit too quick for its own good lol

I'm late on the BP train. So ... I've got a lot of catching up to do. But when that well runs dry, this looks like a good pack.

Since i imported this From US, and I'm in PAL territory i can't buy any of this great stuff it's cool that i got to play it early but I kinda fucked myself in the long run... dam, that island looks fun too.

"Big Surf Island" doesn't look so big...

Just saw the GB TNT. I can't believe I haven't played this yet. This looks awesome and I am going to pick it up especially since it seems like people still play this game
