budokai 3 is based more on ground combat and combos in a limited space and is overly more complex. tenchaichi is about flying free roam and having over 160 characters. they both have their merits but i think budokai 3 is legit good and tenkaichi 3 is a fans only kinda thing and very spammy personally those two games are really all you need when it comes to modern dbz console fighting games.

True. I don't know why they went with Budokai 1 over Budokai 2. Maybe 1 has the richer story mode? I can't remember. 3 is the only one that's actually worth playing, though.

Man, the menu portrait for Tenshinhan looks like a baby.

Man, I kept hoping that they would figure out that they needed to set the new skills.

Either way this brought back an unexpected amount of good memories in me. I would totally go back and play some Budokai 3, but have lost my save file and wouldn't want to have to jump through all the hoops to unlock everything again.

and the game your talking about that wasnt so bad and went back to the hand drawn stuff was Dragonball z : Burst Limit

I don't care what anyone says, Dragonball Z Legacy of Goku, Legacy of Goku II and Buu's Fury for the GBA are the greatest DBZ games ever made. So god damn good games. Budokai 3 comes right with these games but anything outside of that is hot garbage as far as I'm concerned.

DBZ Budokai 3 is and will always be the best DBZ Game.

They did a really bad job of showing this game they don't even know to to charge ki for someone who has reviewed the game you would think they would actually know how to play the game

Vinny going through all the characters was so entertaining. because, yeah!

I don't think I've played a DBZ game since the first Tenkaichi. Did they ever figure out a way to have a transforming cell that had the right voice for each form?

Don't know why Infinite World wasn't included, it was essentially an upgraded Budokai 3. Also that Budokai 1 character select screen is pretty dope. 

Have zero interest in playing these but after seeing this QL & the other Dragonball quick looks (yes I tend to watch all the quick looks once, then rewatch the ones I find entertaining games/GB crew), this hd collection seems the most entertaining of this franchise where there's more to the overall story/world plus punching people into a mountain.

Those blonde unknown assholes! ;P I remember playing this ( the japananese version, even) back in the day and loving it, had Super Sayan Trunks all leveled up and his kicks were leathal. It was 10 years later I decided to look up a review and it scored a 2.0, it was then that I learned that reviews are just opinions.

If this only had 3 I may actually get it. I mean I'm not ruling anything out but 3 looks awesome. I was not big on DBZ at the time but man this looked great.

Budokai 3 is for sure the best DBZ game. Supersonic Warriors and Legacy of Goku 2 both for the Gameboy Advance are not bad either.

Man, Budokai 1 looks extremely dated now.

I would agree those games are fucking awesome. All 3 were good, Legacy of Goku II is my favourite, and right below Budokai 3 on my DBZ games list.

I hate the use of "hot garbage" that's just too harsh for almost anything.

Also that game for the PS1 (Dragon Ball GT Final Bout) was pretty awesome you could even fight with giant Baby ...the character.

Hey now, not all Dragonball games before Budokai were bad. The 2D fighting game, Hyper Dimension on the Snes and the butoden games were good.

I'm one of those guys who likes Tenkaichi 3 best, followed by Budokai 3 and then Hyper Dimension for the SNES.

Burst Limit was actually a pretty good game, probably the best DBZ game.

Budokai 3 intro without the lyrics, missing out on some greatness.

Egh, I don't know about those Butoden games. They weren't exactly good, they were pretty rough. Hyper Dimension was cool though.

Shame Ryan couldn't figure out how to charge up Ki or equip the Super Saiyan skill after he got it in the story mode. But, nevertheless, fun quick look of a game I hold very dear to my heart.

Wait all the music for budokai 3 is wrong! That and the crazy high prize on this might make me not buy this

nah budukai 3 is much better, it's still an alright dbz game though

I don't understand why it's so hard for them to quickly look up the controls before or even during a quicklook. Thats been happening way to much lately and it's starting to get annoying.

The Budokai games are so damn good.

Tiny, pointy feet.

Pan is Gohan and Videl's daughter. And Videl is Mr. Satan's daughter. Ya know, just saiyan.

The Tenkaichi games weren't hot garbage. But yeah, they weren't great. Tenkaichi 3 probably the best in that series, although Tenkaichi 2 had a pretty elaborate and LONG story mode. Budokai 3 is definitely the best DBZ "game", Tenkaichi 3 is the best "DBZ" game.

Kind of amazed how well Budokai 3 held up with making it HD. Looked better (visually) than the recent DBZ game they quick looked.

@Oscar__Explosion: Yeah, it's been getting pretty bad. It's left me much more wary of Ryan's reviews, given that he's been so frequently displaying a fundamental misunderstanding of basic game mechanics during quick looks.
