I really wish there wasn't any voice acting in this game. I never played the original so I was kinda looking forward to this but after seeing it... I don't know.

Based on the one of the duckumentaries in the GB forums, here, they did get the original voice cast of the show for this. After seeing the quick look it does seem that while the voice acting isn't that bad or great but it does seem the timing on it drags.

This game looks pretty amazing. I'm a big fan of the original and its soundtrack, glad to hear the music in this game seems pretty dope.

Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck are really popular here in Finland. Nobody gives shit about Mickey Mouse here.

Ok, so the weirdest thing that this has turned up, is that the voice of Launchpad McQuack is also the voice of Larry from the Walking Dead game http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0569598/

I don't know why they're so down on the game, this is pretty much what I expected and honestly wanted. I mean, it's a remastered version, not a new, modern game, so you want the same mechanics and areas the original game had and they pretty much nailed that. I agree the voice actors sound very old and unenthusiastic/exhausted for obvious reasons, but it's cool they got the original voices for all the characters.

I wonder if they did a German dub.

Quack Look.

This is a downer of a Quick Look. Guys seem really down on it. Looks like what I expected, but with more VO work. Yeah, the VO sounds a little rough, but the actors are 25 years older now - I think I can deal with it. It is charming and scratches a nostalgia itch. I'll enjoy it for what it is.

Magica and Scrooge didn't sound right. Why should I cut them some slack? I think somebody else could have done a better job. Just listen to Magica, FFS!

Here in Sweden it's Joakim Von Anka (Scrooge), Knatte, Fnatte, Tjatte as the little ducks and Launchpad is called Sigge McKvack.

The Internet has taught me that foreigners generalize everything.

The Carl Barks Duck comics are fantastic. Fantagraphics are currently reprinting the whole lot.

And in defense of Magicka and Scrooge's voice actor, they got the original voices and he's 93 years old and she's 95 now.

Scrooge was voiced by Alan Young, who has been doing it since 74. He's also 93.

This just makes me want to go back and read all my Carl Barks and Don Rosa books. Remember when Scrooge and Flintheart competed with giant balls of yarn? Awsome!

Scrooge is voiced by his original VA, a guy named Alan Young. He was born in 1919, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was tired!

I get not being able to skip doesn't help, but that was some relatively harsh critique of a 90+ year old's voice acting.

Darkwing Duck WAS a great show!

It's kind of depressing imagining how old all of those original voice actors are now. In any case, Ducktales was a bit before my time so I have no real attachment to the show beyond a cursory appreciation and the same goes for the game.

I wasn't super into Duck Tales as a kid (although I loved the theme song and did watch the show on occasion), and I never played the NES game, but this still poked me right in the nostalgia.

This was really disappointing.

Instead of remastering this, I would have paid good money if they had re-released the Genesis games The Lion King, Aladdin and The Jungle Book. Those games were solid.

Duck Tales theme song is way more memorable. Growing up duck tales was kinda just on, but Dark wing duck was one of my favorites.

I'm curious if they still have the Launchpad trick of getting more gold for levels to unlock the mega prize. Or in light of what they've done here, something even deeper and more grindy.

EDIT - Good call on the voice actors Vinny, I figured that was the obvious reality a quarter century later, how many people sound exactly the same in that time?

I'm going to guess there was a secret near the stack of three treasure chests at the end of this QL. Anything that conspicuous has to be that way for a reason.

I'd play the hell out of this if they'd put it out on a handheld.

Also, Ducktails is completely not lame (but Jeff... so yeah of course he'd say yes). The original comics were excellent and there was a reason Ducktails became a big deal.
