Fair enough. I don't really mind the video being here, was just trying to put words to why I feel maybe less enthusiastic about mobile game quick looks.

@Sunjammer: Honestly, I'd rather have them highlight stuff like this than the tired bullshit you often get in 60 dollar games.

I remember playing a similar flash game some time ago. It was more simplistic, but had a similar core idea. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

I don't normally feel this way, but it is a little frustrating watching someone else play this lol.

This actually seemed really cool once I got what was happening.

Phone can't play games the only phone game is Snake and I won't have it any other way!

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, I think I'd watched every QL multiple times sometimes in the past but

Puzzle games like this are always frustrating. Except I got a little bit of catharsis this time, when Patrick finally told Brad he'll never finish the stage if he doesn't use a (pretty obvious) strategy. That felt good :)

lol @ the whining. A lot of people enjoy mobile games, including the bomb crew. Get over it.

I got to 90's and put the game down (Frustration). Invisible stuff is ridiculous. Totally worth the 3 dollars though. It's great to have a game not trying to force you to 'share' on various social networks or pay XX amount of dollars for gems/space-bucks.

The menu looks like the beginning of a Looney Toons intro.

I much appreciate the ios quick looks just as with the other quick looks. I can really get a good understanding of what a game is about before buying. The Appstore page for Hundreds does not give enough information for me in order to make a purchase decision. Thanks for the coverage.

Some of these would definitely benefit from an over-the-shoulder cam.

I don't hate the idea of mobile game quick looks. But this game does not look like fun.

These games are great, but i don't think they play very well on a Quick Look. Possibly because they are too minimalist, sound and graphics-wise, and because there is so little feedback as to what's actually being inputted, control-wise. It began to grate on me after about 7 minutes. This could do with being an awful lot shorter. Would it be unreasonable - or inaccurate - for me to say that it's a little too 'abstract' for the format?

They use the word "surfacing" way too much. It may even be overtaking "ostensibly".

This was painful to watch.

For realsies though, these iOS/mobile quicklooks are cool and more of them in the future would be rad.

So, I don't use a smartphone yet. But I'm enjoying these mobile quick looks to get a clearer picture of what's out there. This seems like a pretty original puzzle game that really wouldn't work on conventional platforms. Space Team was a similar situation where the basic nature of mobile platforms made possible a new type of game.

Like some people are saying, I would also label those games as diversions, in the same way that Dyad is pretty much a diversion and Rez is a straight up game. If there are proper names for most of the characters, places, or items in a game, it's probably a fully featured game; that's my rule of thumb. It doesn't mean a diversion is bad, just simpler, stripped down, easier to enjoy for a short period.

To the idiots whining about mobile Quick Looks, Really? What is this, 2003? Plenty of great games exist on iOS. Deal with it.

Those "not real games" mobile games are beating consoles at their own game in sales. Whether you like it or not the game industry has embraced mobile games and they aren't going away.

This game looks kind of dope.

I think it's kinda cool that they're doing some iOS games, but this particular iOS game is boring as paste. I didn't even finish this or Kingdom Rush. Usually whether it's a game I even like or not I get through the whole video. I would love to be convinced of something to play on my iPhone, but so far it hasn't gone well.

I straight up hate this game due to it's difficulty. Not fun at all. Got to the high 20's in level, and the saw blades and lack of room became too much.

My tablet wouldnt survive this game.

Don't blame Brad, these types of games are almost always infuriating to watch.

The aesthetic of games like this kind of makes me wish I had an iOS device, or an iPad, but I've made it this far in my life without purchasing an Apple product. It's not a trend I feel is worth breaking.

Everybody needs to relax with the iOS hate, both because yes, iOS and Android do contain real, worth-while gaming experiences that warrant coverage AND because there is a distinct lack of "real" games coming out at the moment, so what else is there to QL? And even if there were tons of other games coming out, how can you balk at more site content?

That said, I shut this QL off, which is something I almost never do. There was a complete lack of interest/enthusiasm on Patrick's end (not a hater, just probably in part because he was way more familiar with the game than Brad was) and also, I got all I needed out of the first 5 minutes or so.

I am so glad I didn't buy this game when it first came out, despite the early hype.

They have done Quick Looks of 10,000,000, Spaceteam, Angry Birds Trilogy, Splice, and plenty of other games that could be considered similar to Hundreds in their puzzle-like quality, being on mobile devices or primarily using mouse or touch for controls.

Also, I would totally watch some Tiger Electronics games.

I feel like all of those other videos were justified because of their releases on real gaming platforms, mostly with newer mechanics (Kinect in Angry Birds). In the case of Spaceteam, I'd say that game is unique enough to warrant some attention, but that video could have been easily been put up as an I Love Mondays. I would argue that any game that works best on a phone is a mobile game first and foremost, and because of their low impact and low price point don't deserve crazy amounts of coverage. Hell, there are plenty of great free flash games out there, but the Giant Bomb team doesn't cover them either. I know they'd never do this, but I would encourage them to be classified differently from normal Quick Looks (iLooks?), then I wouldn't have any problem with them and I could know to skip them on my continuing journey to watch every Quick Look because I'm an idiot.
