Quick Look: Infinite Space

Dude. Sweet. I was hoping for an Infinite Space QL.

Forward and reversing over and over is pretty uncinematic and oddly amusing.

I was like totally trying to come up with a clever way to rag on this game, cuz I don't really like it either, and I was all like "maybe there's some way I can use the title of the game to then make fun of that game!" and I've been sitting here for an hour trying to think of something. I thought I had I something good with "This game is infinitely not all that great it seems to me" but then BAM! Beaten to the punch with something WAY better! My hat's off.

For sure, they are hard to see what is going on, I don't think I get the full effect. Game looks meh, not a big fan of hand held RPG games, good to see though in case I wanted to pick it up, keep up the good work!

I'm on the fence with this game. It looks cool but doesn't seem to explain anything to the player (at least I assume so based on Jeff's lack of understanding of the battle system).

I love DS RPG's. They tend to have the more niche sensabilities that I enjoy when playing a turnbased Japanese RPG. I still love almost any western RPG's but Final Fantasy, while I liked the battles, did not have the story draw to keep me going.

Space travel is banned?

You're kind of missing my point. When the GB crew does a quick look of a Russian PC game they usually bring in Dave because he's the person who likes those games, and he's better equipped to speaking to that audience.  By that same logic, I'd rather have Brad and/or Vinny do a quick look of an anime inspired game because they're more likely to give it a fair shake whereas Jeff and Ryan are already predisposed to not liking it. I used to love quicklooks but I'm getting a little weary of this whole "I play games, not read manuals" mentality.  Not every game is equal, and not every manual is useless.  I think I've seen every quicklook Giantbomb has released since launch and I'd guess they didn't pick up a single piece of reading material for any of them.  Even the games with in-game tutorials they just seem to skip over the tutorial because it's faster to just load up the game and start acquiring footage.  Jeff put an hour into this game before they started and in all of that time it might have taken him 5 minutes to skim through the manual and prepare yourself for the quicklook.
 
It could be argued that Giantbomb's crew simply value certain genres or platforms over others for the sake of appealing to their viewer base, and so they might skim over the details of games they don't think we would want to see or purchase, but I see this in every single game they put up.  What's the deal?  Is it really such a time sink to skim a manual?

I'm totally stuck like Jeff. I can kill about 1 ship, and then I get iced my the main ship in the fight. It's a very interesting game, but I'm not sure I'll ever get to see the rest of it.

The whole point of of a quick look is to show you, very quickly, what the game is like, not a developer walk-through.

Don't listen to complainers, I like all the quicklooks. Especially the ones of games I probably wouldn't have considered until watching you guys play it for 30 minutes. Also like the banter and humor.
