Quick Look: Jak & Daxter Collection

I completed Jak 1 with 100% and seriously loved it. I have no idea why I never bothered to check out 2 and 3. Now is definately the time for me to play both.

So tempted to pick this up.

Yup, Jak 2 is as hard as I remembered it.

I like platformers.

I can't wait to get this, I loved these so much on the PS2. Defiantly still in the back of my mind as some of my favourite games.

I'm a big fan of inverted X axis for camera control. But not inverted Y. Maybe I'm weird.

I'm surprised neither of them made a Crash Bandicoot reference!

I hope I can just buy the 1st one. 2&3 play like ass.

Picked this up yesterday but haven't fired it up yet - FFXIII-2 and Amalur and a lot of essays got in the way. Will have to rectify that right...now.

Waaaaaaaay too many Brads being pulled in this here QL.

But anyway, Jak is a great series and everybody should play it. I probably won't be picking this collection up, though.

I really, really hated the "dark" turn this series took. What's wrong with being lighthearted and fun?

Daxter is supposed to be obnoxious and Jak II is self-aware? I'm not so sure.

yup this really reminded me of everything that was great about Jak 1 and everything that was horribly wrong in Jak 2.

The camera was nauseating for some reason.

The QL reminded me that Jak 1 was great, Jak 2 I never want to see again and Jak 3 was some okay mash-up between the two. It doesn't look that much prettier though, so I'll just stick with the PS2 copies I already have.

Brad's still his old terrible self with these platformers. I'd love to see a Breaking Brad where he tries that underworld level in Rayman Origins. How the expletives would fly.

I love the jingle of keys when Jak jacks cars. It makes no sense and it's great.

I share Brad's lack of skill at platformers, so this was strangely cathartic. And, hey, the man had the good grace to apologize.

Never played any of them outside of a Jak 1 demo. Looks good!

Played Jak 2 first when it came out, did not like it. Few years later, I broke my leg and my friend let me borrow Jak 2 again. Fucking amazing game. Ended up beating it before he did. Then played Jak 3 and loved that also, but got so-so reviews (in my opinion the game was amazing).

Did not play Jak and Daxter until about 2 years ago. Way different game.

I want to say that from what I remember of 3 was that the cars could be upgraded/customized somewhat but it's been a while since I played them but remember that they were quite fun then. Not sure how well the hold up now without playing them but glad that they are putting things like this out.

Ah, I loved these games. I played through Jak and Daxter a few years ago again and %100'ed it, and it's held up incredibly well in my opinion. Just seeing the precursor orbs scattered around is giving me a huge nostalgia trip.

Is this worth it if you think Jak and Dexter is amazing but think that everything else in this series is absolute garbage?

never played j&d, i was more of a ratchet and clank man. these look alright though.

I never played these games. I am really regretting it right now. Totally need to pick this up.

Jak II, the only game to ever make me trow my disk at the wall. I loved it, but man was it frustrating, better checkpoints would have helped.

Liked one, two was alright. Never beat three.

I had forgotten how hard Jak II was.

Edit: Brad's description of "realistic Jak" sounds terrible! Who would want that?

I have no money...but I really fucking want this.

Doesn't have to be worth it, they are also selling the games a la carte. So if you hate the sequels, you can download just "Jak and Daxter" for $15.

Really did love Jak 2 and 3, played the hell out of these game even just roaming and messing around blowing crap up, Jak 3 was great for that with Large parts of the city under a constant war zone, ill probably skip this since i don't feel the HD is anything special and id don't want to revisit these games with how much i played them, but if anyone didn't play these and it seems your thing then you should totally get this.

All three Jak and Ratchet games are great, with Jak 2 and Ratcher 3 being amazing games. Sly 1 is just an okay platformer. Sly 2 is great, and Sly 3 is less great.

Never played the first, finished the 2nd and after playing the 3rd for a bit I think I hit my fill of Jak and just put it down. I can respect Naughty dog for knowing when to move on.

It's funny they mention how changing so much between Jak 1 and 2 was inspiring, because at the time it seemed like Jak failed so hard, they had to go elsewhere with it.

Fun to look back on it now.
