well... if I wanna wander around a beautiful, desolate environment, i'll just pop in shadow of the colossus again. It's kind of like this game, though capped off with some amazing, intense boss battles after said wandering. Or maybe I just don't "get it."

Man, this is one of the few games that makes me feel like I need a PS3. Uncharted 3? Sure, sounds fun, but I'm not in any hurry.

This game, thopugh, I have to play.

Either this is going to offer an interesting experience or it'll be incredibly pretentious. I'm not sure if I'm on board yet.

Yet another visually interesting looking tech demo like Flower that I would only play if it was free. I'm all for indie things out there but just doesn't seem like it'd be considered a game.

I disagree. I enjoyed his commentary on the game and its development.

If you're the sort of person who cares about how the Sixaxis enhances the experience, you'll probably go out of your way to use it anyway regardless of the options given.

Anyway, this looks good. I like quiet, arty, low-impact games like this where you just sort of sit back and absorb the presentation.

The game looks absolutely amazing, but to be honest:
It doesn't look that much fun to play.
Don't know what to think of that.
I will definitely buy it though

Listening to Brad try to talk about it on the Bombcast, I had no clue what to think about the game other than "oh, one of them artsy games". I love Shadow of the Colossus, but Ico wasn't really my thing. At the same time, I liked Flow...but not Flower.

Seeing this Quick Look, I wish I owned a PS3 so I could play this damn thing! It looks gorgeous, and there's such good subdued and implied storytelling in it. The best part is that I was making up my own story the entire time that they were playing it. I'm also excited to see more game-like mechanics in one of their games. I definitely want to go on this journey.

As for the "no friends" thing in multiplayer, I'm cool with that. The idea of being in the desert...and then randomly coming across a complete stranger after being in isolation... I can only imagine the elation you could feel.

They were going around in circles and explaining absolutely nothing. When you're trying to imagine a game without a visual context, it doesn't help to have a set of vague ideas to go off of. That's how it's painful. And it went on for a long time.

The quick look at least lets me see what Brad was talking about, though we didn't see any indoor environments or mechanics beyond jumping, so it's still very vague. Like I said though, I wouldn't care if that's all there is to the game because it looks amazing and, like Flower, stands on its own as more of an interactive art statement. I'd rather them *not* tack gameplay on to things if that's what they're going for.

I'm really loving everything about this. It seems amazingly artistic in practically every aspect. The multiplayer also seems like some of social experiment.

I wish Jeff had been on this. I think it would be more useful to have one person who's clearly into it and someone who's skeptical.

I was just gonna say, I'm glad its Patrick and Brad in this QL. Glad to have a lack of cynicism.

Though, the way you walk in the sand is kind of crazy. How is it that the sand five feet in front of you in being disturbed? Maybe that'll be fixed by the time the game comes out.

Actually, unless there is some explanation for it (I haven't listened to any of the QL yet, just scanned some video), the sand tech is pretty terrible. It shouldn't flow like water... unless that's what they're going for.

Pretty much my thoughts. It's okay to be into a game, it's okay to praise it, and it's definitely okay to be objectively critical, but Jeff shits on everything artistic 100% of the time, so his opinion on Journey or any game like Journey is automatically moot to me.

The physics of sand moving around the player characters feet remind me of the boob physics in Dead or Alive Paradise games.

This definitely seems interesting.  The only thing that bums me out is that I could see this turning into an "it was all just a dream" game or something along those lines.  I hope I'm totally off base with that feeling.

what patrick was talking about with someone who couldn't control the game how they wanted and couldn't get into it because of that, that's me.

i own both flow and flower, but i've only played either like twice, because most of the time i like the idea of playing it more than actually tilting a controller around and hoping i can go where i want to go instead of just doing it with the stick.

This looks like a great looking game. Everyone is free to have an opinion, but I kind of see no reason why most people wouldn't find this game visually pleasing. The art looks great. I don't know about the gameplay, but I like the occasional relaxing game experience. This looks much like a movie.

I really wish that games would design with a beta in mind. Rather then putting the first 20 minutes of your game up for a beta design a level specifically for the beta or something so I'm not scared to play your game before launch and wreck the experience.

I know in some instances the point is to see how people react when they're in a production map or what ever but still.

I thought Flower was rather boring and pretentious. However, Journey feels different and more interesting...and more varied. It also has the freedom that Flower sorely lacked (but hinted at).

This looks like the perfect game to me.  I may buy a PS3 just to play this
