Overview
Tsumugi is a wealthy girl whose family owns multiple homes, as well as the chain of instrument stores where Yui buys her guitar. The Light Music Club takes makes several summertime excursions to one of her resort homes for training purposes. She has been playing the piano since she was four years old, and plays the keyboard in the band. She originally intended to join the choral club, but was persuaded to join the Light Music Club instead.
She is responsible for making tea and serving cake and pastries before practices. She also provides the expensive tea service that the Light Music Club uses.
Her eyebrows are said to resemble pickled daikon (Japanese radish).
Tsumugi Kotobuki is voiced by Minako Kotobuki in the original Japanese dub, and Shelby Lindley in the English dub.
K-ON! After School Live!
Tsumugi appears as a playable character in K-ON! After School Live! Mugi's gameplay centers around the Keyboard tracks, playing the backing melody. Mugi can also appears in the main menu or the club-room, along with all the other characters, at random and can active special events if in the room at the same-time as other members.
Both 'Humming Bird' and 'Dear My Keys ~Kenban no Mahou~' appear in the games setlist from Mugi's Character Image album, entitled 'K-ON! Character Image Song Series Vol. 4: Tsumugi Kotobuki'.
