this is bullshit, I''ve been waiting for this game for awile. I am even bored of bioshock now. impossible right?  and to find out they are having more multiplayer then anything, it looks like nothing but fighting non-stop is killing me. I hardly want to buy this game just to have the biggest let down , like dane cooks last stand up or jeff danhams new show. ( which sucks, lets be truthful now) everything that made everyone love bioshock is gone. no story line, no mystory ( i know i cant spell) no twist as far as i can see. the creapy music isnt the same, looks like theres no dieirys. and it looks like endless fighting like left 4 dead. it doesnt look like Rapture , it looks like what a 16 year old girl trys to do with a anime pic  she see online and trys to hand copy.     they tried too hard trying to make it freakier then the last game but it wasnt the fighting that made us love the game, it was the plot and the twist. if this game is a fail like i know it is i rather let go and no buy the game so i can keep bioshock in my mind a great game insted of playing the new game a hating it after and just goplay another great game like portal

I hope they take out than re-spawning chamber mechanic from the first game, and actually make this one a solid PFS experience.

I don't think Bioshock 2 has any reason to exist other than to fill 2K's pockets....
I won't be buying this game.

@GaLaXypwn3r: I agree with the prequel part, and for a long time I thought this sequel WAS suppose to be a prequel. Oh well. We'll just have to accept it for what it is. Another telling of a story that probably took place simultaneously with the original but in a different part of Rapture. If I'm wrong about the story part, please correct me, that was just my speculation.

To the people crying nonsense about sheep, step up to the plate and say what actually looks good/improved about these trailers. BioShock was not just decent, it was incredible, and BioShock 2 from all indications isn't even trying to reach that level, let alone surpass it. This example is probably getting used way too often, but look at Uncharted's progression in comparison with this.

It will sell but from this gamer's point of view, if it looks like a duck, and it smells like a duck, it's probably...

and the shooting mechanic was weak in the first one, and hopefully will be so here. that's not what bioshock is about.
and that's what they're showing us.  cause there's no way they can divulge much of any story.
and everyone's saying meh.
hmm. it makes enough sense.

I totally agree.  There are so many sheep on this site its ridiculous, they read reviews and say how wonderful and awesome the review is, without ever even playing the game for themselves.

Of course there is no NEED for a 2nd game, the 1st is still awesome and it wrapped everything up.  But do I want another Bioshock game, absolutely.  Hopefully they will realize, as has been said, that the story, characters and environment are what made the 1st game, not the shooting.  If they give me more of that, and their incredible scripted events, I am more than sold.

It looks good, but put me in the group that doesnt think there needs to be a sequel.  The original was one of my favorite games ever, but as much for the story and freshness of the art as for the action.  The art isn't unique this time, so the story really needs to pick it up... and I just don't see how they can get a good enough story with the information we have now.  It will probably be a good game, but I doubt it will live up to the original.

The Spear gun/Rocket Spear looks fun, sticking people to walls but I was under the assumption that ONE Big Sister would be stalking and harassing you throughout the game but it turns out that there are multiple Big Sisters and the big bad villain this time around is...............Andrew Ryan's political rival ?!?!? REALLY?  That would be who is narrating the trailer.

The story in the first one really drew me in. This one however I have no clue what's going on, and playing as "the first" big Daddy makes no sense since it's 10 years after the first one. I don't know. I wanna play it, but it might be a rental.

I'll play it eventually. It'll be a solid game but the mystery and story is what made Bioshock. Everything I've seen for this one seems to be about plasmids and guns while the story kinda sits back. I hope I'm proven wrong though.

I just love how they tell you in the trailer when the embargo lifts just as a reminder for journalists who got to play it to know when to start writing. Oh 2k, you attention whores...

I'm not quite understanding the people who are pissing and moaning about "more of the same look." ... You're aware you're in the same location, right? Not much is going to change...

Having said that, I'm becoming increasingly sure that the lofty expectations I have coming out of the first game will not be met by this one. The eerie mystery of "what the fuck is going on here" just doesn't seem like the focus from all these trailers. Story and atmosphere, not shooting, made the first one. I hope and pray they realized that while working on this one.

Case in point, anyone remember the CG trailer of the first one? You remember how amazingly stoked that made you? I have yet to get that from any of the footage I've seen for this one.

But, it's Bioshock, and the first one may very well be my favorite game of this generation, so I'll be buying it day one.

Ok... My opinion is changing.  The action looked... well actiony.  ok... but the Voice Over... that stuff was exciting...  Rapture plunged even further into chaos... No Andrew Ryan or Atlas... Nutcases weilding more power.  Probably won't be as scary since you are a big daddy... but... this story could rock.  My meter went from "I'll probably play it" to "resonably stoked."  Not quite to pre-order stage yet... but we'll see.

Nice to see gameplay videos of the SINGLEPLAYER....not the horrid looking Multiplayer. I know Multi is special for some players...but really, the singleplayer is what makes Bioshock stand out from other FPSes.

It is amazing how quickly it became so popular and trendy to hate on this, a sequel to an all-time classic, before there was almost any hard information released on it. A handful of "celebrity" video game "journalists" such as Gerstmann came out on their pedestals attacking it on podcasts from day one and all of these mindless sheep have jumped on the bandwagon. It's a shame really and pretty embarrassing for the industry as a whole the way they have reacted to even the mention of a sequel. It looks good.

I'll admit, it looks damn good. However, I'm still not convinced that there needed to be another BioShock game. The first was amazing in its own right and didn't need a sequel.

Looking at that it reminds me of a mod or a deathmatch mode for the original Bioshock, nothing other that being able to walk in area filled with water and some new enermies screams something different that should be in a sequal.

I think it looks pretty good. Will it live up to the first game? I don't know, probably not. How many games are actually on the same level of quality as Bioshock? Not too many. But I am excited to play this game and I'm going to remain optimistic about the game until I get my hands on it and actually play it myself.

Yeeah. As if all of these different embargos on what parts of a game can be talked about by the press at what exact time/date wasn't silly enough. This'll really get the community salivating for those super secret hands-on previews! Bleh.

This trailer actually made me more excited for the game. I've been pretty indifferent towards it since the concept was first shown. I loved the first game, and I thought a sequel would be great if done right, and by "right", I mean expanding on the ideas and themes from the first game and actually having a sense of progression from story to story. The fact that the sequel is still taking place in Rapture doesn't excite me much. My biggest concern is that the game will feel almost exactly like the first due to the environments. And while that is still true now, the gameplay shown in this trailer looks a lot better than what was shown previously. Hopefully this game will be everything it should be.

I feel really bad for saying this, but i'm not feeling this at all. Part of me really wants to explore more of rapture, but everything gameplay about this really turns me off. Show me some story, some THEME. Not just a bunch of shooting. I didn't play Bioshock to shoot things.

I don't understand the people who say that they're going to ruin Bioshock  with this game. If you don't like it, you don't have to play it, it doesn't make the first one worse. Everybody acts like they own Bioshock but it's still the same people so I don't see why it would be bad.

The soundtrack in that trailer impressed me. If there was one thing I really loved in the original, it was the soundtrack. I hope the sequel manages to convey the same dramatic forboding. I'm glad the sea is going to play a more major role this time.

I have to agree with all the others saying "Meh". I just am not feeling this, granted, the first was a good, solid game, I didn't get the huge wow factor everyone else got, and I just didn't think it was that great. So this looks pretty much the same, so I just can't get excited for it.

The trailer looked pretty sweet, though the woman voiceover doesn't nearly give as many chills down my spine as Andrew Ryan's voice did.
