Giant Bomb at X10: Perfect Dark

 
I have no nostalgia for Perfect Dark, or Golden Eye, but with the $10.00 price point, and Ken Lobb's expert game selling skills,  I'll get this.

I can't believe the price on this, that's awesome. Great guy, great game. 2010 is already shaping up to be a great, great year for games, I wonder if the momentum can keep up through the summer? The industry just seems to have its shit together in so many ways, from the huge blockbusters down to the reboots and DLC and indie games. So great to see.

The nostalgia is kicking in and telling me that this game has top priorities, above all else. 
 
Does anyone know if it still has the combat simulator, like the bots and shit? Those were fun.

Looks great, surprised they are going with auto-aim instead of right stick aiming but after this interview with the legendary Ken Lobb I can see why. Still though, seeing this makes me depressed about the Goldeneye remake that almost was. Even if that comes out on Wii like the rumors were claiming, I want Goldeneye on Xbox Live damit! 

Cool. As a kid who loved the original Golden Eye but had gotten over the N64 by the time Perfect Dark came out, I'm looking forward to playing this.

Great company, they're loyal to the fanbase while trying to expand and make it accessible at the same time and they're not just saying it. They really do seem loyal to the original product.

Funny, if they hadn't made that "mistake" with PDzero, there would be a 360 standing in my room now.

I can't wait! Good old N64 time al over again.

Still have my Goldeneye and Perfect Dark cartridges, but no N64 to play them on. I will definitely pick this up.

Anyway, for $10 this is a no-brainer.  You're rarely going to get a good entertainment value like this at that price in this market.

It's starting to sound more & more like a good purchase but I don't know if I can be bothered buying the game just so I can play through it's batshit fucking crazy story on a different console, and the multiplayer is much much better when the people you're exploding are in the room with you.

I can't wait for this. The more I hear about it the better it sounds.

It took me a little while to recognise that first background shot as the beginning of DataDyne...I Can't wait, i get to go around DataDyne again! Holy shit i love Perfect Dark.

I think this will be great fun especially in split-screen; not sure whether I should use the "Spartan" control scheme or the "Duty Calls" one, love both series :P

Very nice interview, Jeff. And this game looks great; I have been waiting for it for at least a year now.

I'm too old to have played Perfect Dark (i.e. when the game was released I had already moved on to supposedly more sophisticated shooters on the PC), but the remake looks nice enough in a charmingly old school kind of way.

I'm glad to hear counter-op is still in the game.

Did Jeff ask him if Joe Fielder is still in it?

This looks cool. I like the idea of multiple control schemes for new players. Still want Goldeneye though.

I am so buying this, love the 'Spartan' and 'Duty Calls' button layout idea and they put all the Goldeneye guns in multiplayer? Hell yes. Also great to hear they coded it from the ground up so it's not being emulated.

Oh wow, I didn't realise PD used the same AI movement and death animations as Goldeneye. Seeing those again is pretty cool.
