Star Trek Online Beta: Set Phasers to Fun - Part 03

The Duder prevails!  Totally would have been awesome if you 3 could have been manning the ship yelling orders back and forth.  But alas this is not that game.

Every one of these videos make me want to play the game even more. But I can't.

im so excited for part 4!

Looks like we've got a new (mini) Endurance Run.  Let's keep these videos coming for the duration of the Beta.  Even though they are an hour long, I'm watching them all the way through to the end.  And I want more! 

I can't seem to fight through these videos without falling asleep.

I seem to recall a couple of years ago after it was announced that it didn't seem like it would work. Looks like it's being proven wrong. 
 
I was watching this video and thinking: 
 
1) I wonder why they didn't circle around that big ass-teroid Wrath of Khan style during the first fight? 
2) And where was the epic score that seemed to be playing in my head during that fight? 
3) No Attack Pattern Delta to be found?  
4) Loved  the quotes and references thrown about. Loved it!
 
*sigh* Dammit Jim, I kinda want to play this game!

" I finally realized why Star Trek has always seemed so cheesy to me... It's because everything in Star Trek looks like stage makeup and 60's sci fi designs. Why doesn't Star Wars seem cheesy? Because you can't make someone look like General Ackbar with stage makeup. "

"Amazing.  Brad didn't die."  I like it when fans join up with the crew.  Makes it that much more entertaining.

I wonder if they know you can steer the ship by holding down both mouse buttons and moving the ship about.  That frees you up to turn the ship about to take damage on healthy shields while weak ones recharge and repairs are made to your ship.  And to fire weaponry as well. 

Brad should learn how to turn the ship tighter corners by slowing the ship down.
 
Also, use rocks for cover when taking on a battleship is also good.

I think they need a Death Blossom feature on those ships. The Death Blossom: a weapon of last resort!

 You can set your ships attacks to auto fire by right clicking on the hotkeys / abilities so you dont have to spam spacebar etc.

Guild Wars has a party system like that, with AI allies from the get-go.

I'll never serve under Brad's command. Why is he going full speed all the time?

If it was that Ryan during that huge battleship conflict saying "Hey thar," I will believe such to be hilarious.

This looks really good, too bad I missed the beta keys.

Why not just put these in the Endurance Run tab? They did it with Not Like This.

I got to mention how much I'm enjoying these videos. Looks like a decent MMO too. Thanks Giantbomb!

The last battle was epic and hilarious. I laughed so much that my face is getting sore, lol.
 
Brad needs to roll with the Space Lobster fleet and assemble a team.

Dude, you have to modulate your throttle when you attack. 
Speed = maneuverability and more time to attack a specific shield before passing by. 

I hope they lean more heavily on the ship based combat. The Away Team stuff doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be, but it's still not nearly as interesting as the naval style warship combat. They've certainly got the Star Trek feel right for that part.

Did I hear someone playing GeoDefense in the background, or was that a stock sound effect?
