Overview
Guilty Gear Dust Strikers is a 2D sci-fi fantasy platformer-fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Majesco for the Nintendo DS in North America on April 25, 2006. It was later released in Japan (by Arc System Works) on October 5, 2006 and in Europe (by THQ) on August 3, 2007.
A spin-off of the Guilty Gear series (and loosely based on Guilty Gear Isuka), Guilty Gear Dust Strikers re-tunes the Guilty Gear XX revisions of the series into a multi-screen "platformer-fighting" game where battles occur on multiple platforms in four heights (with players able to freely switch between them). Some mechanics from Guilty Gear Isuka are also included, including four-player combat, a lives system (known as "Souls"), and a customizable character (Robo-Ky, who can receive replacement special moves). It also supports wireless multiplayer for up to four players.
It also includes seven mini-games based on particular characters, such as May (with her dolphins), Bridget (with his yo-yo), and Venom (with billiards). All of these mini-games utilize the DS's touchscreen controls.
Gameplay
The game includes six control buttons: Weak Attack, Strong Attack, Dust Strike, Special Attack, Psych Burst, and Roman Cancel.
Characters
All 20 characters from the arcade version of Guilty Gear XX #Reload are available in this game, most of which are unlocked by completing stages with other characters. The game's final boss, made exclusively for this game, is unlockable for play through a different means.
