    May is the female Pokémon Trainer counterpart to the player in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire /Emerald. She has shown giving a liking for competitive battles and in certain times presented as a Pokémon enthusiast of contests and co-ordination.

    May is a playable female character in the Pokémon series and the protagonist of of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.

    Whilst if Brendan is the chosen player at the start of the game, May will remain a faithful research companion and not a rival in lock of battle. Her starter will also never be shown to evolve into their third stage nor will be seen to reach thier final form throughout the entire in-game progress.

    In the Pokémon anime series, May's father is Norman, the gym leader of Petalburg City. This alter-ego is shown persuaded more towards Pokémon Co-ordination, a feature presented in the Ruby/Sapphire Versions.
