I struggle to think of anything else. I guess I have a bias towards the early games, when the solid 3d was really novel.

It would be really tough to come up with a Playstation 1 games to fill one of these things (storage limitations aside) but for the opposite reason, too many greats to choose from.

Man, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is SO under appreciated for being a great game. Weirdly unrelated to this podcast I've going down the rabbit-hole of Goemon games that never got released in America. I wish I could actually get the time to learn Japanese so I could play them/understand them. Too bad about Konami that no one will get a new Goemon game...

@taesoawful: By the end of the N64's life cycle here in New Zealand N64 games were costing $180 and Playstation ones were about $80, so that might be another reason.

Ditto. First time I heard ESS ENN EE ESS was on the Bombcast, so I assumed it was an American thing. It's all well and good to spell out acronyms if they don't make pronouncable words, but everyone can say Snes and Nes, and it's much quicker.

SNES is an initialism, not an acronym.

Just a technical thing: I feel the audio level of GB's output is not consistent. Most of the time (like this one) it's pretty much on the low side. To a point where I have to boost the system volume to a level where every Windows chime-sound startles me.

Jeff Minter has a Youtube channel as well that I recently subscribed to. He's been posting a lot of videos lately of his sheep and llamas and goats. Kind of relaxing to watch.

Well, I definitely have to play Nier: Automata before GotY 2017 deliberations. No way I'm passing up the conversation on Nier's story. And I might as well do it as soon as I can since I haven't had it spoiled for me yet.

I'd be hesitant to be dismissive of concerns over The Last Night's politics because it looks cool. I know the guy has said that he's changed and that the game no longer contains the apparently anti-female material it previously did, but I'd want to look at the message of the final product before waving aside reservations.
