alpha protocol delayed 8 months!!!
WHAT THE FUCK SEGA??

kotaku is now reporting on it
yeah 8 months is almost totally new game time like splinter cell conventions" Well goddamn. That's like "we the publishers want you to completely rework the game" type delaying. "
I thought it looked pretty good now
man the guy that said the mass effect thing caused the game to be severely delayed
Woooow. That is horrible news.
I'd like to think it's because nobody wants to go up against some of the heavy hitters this holiday (Modern Warfare 2, Brutal Legend), but 8 months sounds like some major changes are going into this game.
Hopefully it'll still retain its basic appeal.
good thing it was delayed, i cant afford all these new games.. the next 3 months are packed with serious purchases, so im glad alpha protocol got delayed
" Didn't see this coming, although the game definitely needs some polish from looking at the video footage of it.sega didn't say anything the first time it got delayed
@Jimbo said:" Any confirmation / other source on this? "I'm also wondering this, Gamestop can make mistakes. "
so if you can't buy it on the 6th then its 8 months
It's too bad Obsidian didn't hold off on Neverwinter Nights 2 for another 8 months because that mess of a game needed at least that much more time to squash most of the bugs it shamefully shipped with. I would warn anyone looking to buy Alpha Protocol at launch to be very concerned about Obsidian's track record of just kicking a game out the door in whatever state it is in and promising to patch it later. Only that later turns into many months, not days like they allude to. I got burned with Neverwinter Nights 2 and I don't think Obsidian has learned it's lesson yet. Buyer beware.

I think all of that is more pressure from a publisher to push out the game asap than Obsidian doing it because they want to, but your point is still valid." Wait...what?! I thought this game was already in the bag. Hell, they even sent stuff over to the GB guys!
I'm gonna dig a little deeper, see what I can find out...unless the GB guys know more.
*EDIT* http://www.gamecrazy.com/games/game.aspx?id=13878&LF=STL Game Crazy's date still days 10/27...
" Considering how Sega hasn't really been showing the game off, I won't be surprised if this delay turns out to be true. Normally we'd have played it by now. Normally we'd have a version of it in-house by now. "Yeah you'd think that they'd be entering the heavier marketing campaign time-frame at this point, and its gone totally quiet, so this sounds quite reasonable.
Right move for Sega. It would've been crushed Q4 09 or Q1 10, so June 2010 is the right time for Alpha Protocol to come out.

I would say this is a good thing. Every different gameplay walk through I've seen so far, seems somewhat shaky on execution.
Even though I love Obsidian and was looking forward to this, the less packed the next couple of months are, the better for me.
Well I'm for one is glad they take time to make a finished product. Remember KotOR 2? That was released way too early. That was most likely the publishers fault for insisting it had to be out for the holidays, but still I'm sure they don't want to hurry a game for a holiday release again.
Man... this sucks. I was really looking forward to playing this. I hope the delay works out in the end for them.
Let's hope it isn't true, but lack of marketing was making me wonder if Sega was intrested in selling any copies at all of the game.
Dang, my Q4 mustplay list is starting to look a little thin.
Didn't Sega say in the Sony meeting that leaked that they kinda wanted Alpha Protocol to be more like Mass Effect? I'm a little scared, I was really, really looking forward to this game in it's current status.
This is too bad. I still have high hopes for Obsidian and Alpha Protocol, despite the flaws of Neverwinter 2 and KOTOR 2.
This is bullshit. 2009 was supposed to be the year with the crazy amount of good games. Now, the big games left are Brutal Legend, Borderlands, Gay Tony, AC2, L4D2, and MW2. MW2 is big, but it comes out in fucking november. Alpha protocol was supposed to come out a month before, will before the hype train. Seriously, these companies are going to face a huge shock when these games tank. Games like Bioshock 2 are going to be fine. Other games? not so much.
