8-Bit Movie Tie-Ins That Never Were

It may just be Friday for you, but for the inventive goons over on the Something Awful forums, it's Photoshop Phriday! For the unfamiliar, SA's not a video-game website per se, but they've been known to dabble in some hilarious, inside-jokey, and regularly tasteless video-game material. This week they've cooked up some menu screens for 8-bit movie tie-in video games that were never actually made. Tombstone and Howard The Duck, my god, lol. Very funny stuff. I would have loved to see 8-bit Kurt Russell in Western garb.

Now I really wanna hear an 8-bit digitized "GARBAGE DAY!" voice sample.

Wow, just when Giant Bomb was starting to look like, you know, a real gaming website, you go and make a link to a cesspool like Something Awful. Real classy, guys.

I could totally see myself buying a Dawn of the Dead, Logan's Run, or Howard the Duck game.  The developers of those shitty Deer Hunter games should cash in on the zombie craze and create a Zombie Hunter game.  I'd buy that for a dollar!

Ah! Creepy. My friends and I totally once discussed how awesome a Tombstone: The Movie: The Game would be!

Hey!  I didn't know what Ryan was talking about until I actually clicked the images and looked at them up-close!  These are cool!  Big Logan's Run fan here!  SUGGESTION:  If you haven't seen Logan's Run, watch it when you turn 30.  Or give it to someone as a gift on their 30th birthday.

Dawn of the Dead.  That would be a keeper.

There really was a Howard the Duck video game, on the Commodore 64.  It was reportedly terrible.

I would play a Tombstone game.
