Fable II's Knothole Island In Pictures

I'm going to try and sell Far Cry 2 to get Fable II.

Totally going to get this.

I'm undecided on whether or not tyo buy this. Although I beat the main story there's still lots to do. I also want to save my MS Points for Rock Band 2 DLC, but we'll see.

Sure this was probably being put together by the time the game went gold, but If Knothole Island (which seems fairly out there so far anyway, perfect for DLC) made it into the retail version we'd likely still be waiting for Fable II to drop, and folks would just raise eyebrows about the next bit of DLC on the horizon instead. There's $60 of game in that box as is no question, and I'd rather see a DLC model like this where substantial content is released while the game is still fresh than what Rockstar is doing with GTAIV."

man i love snow in games, that looks like fun.  don't have an xbox though.

Does this take place where Fable 2 left off?  If so, that would explain what happened to the last third of the main quest.  If it wraps up the story then I guess I will (begrudgingly) buy it. if it's just an irrelevant side quest then I think I'll pass.

Once I tear myself away Fallout 3 I really need to get back into Fable II. That looks like same decent DLC for the price.

Seriously, anyone complaining about the game only being "8 hours long" missed the entire point.  I got more than 40 hours out of both my play throughs, and I'd still be happy enough to play through it again.  The content is coming quite soon, but remember, developers don't keep working on the game right up until release, they probably DID have people working on this before the games release, but releasing it with the final game would have definitely meant delaying the game.  And how many of you would be willing to work over time for free?

I think some people are being far too cynical in regards to DLC, without even attempting to understand the process.

800 points seems like a bit much though, I would have thought something like this would have only been 400, so I hope it's a sizable amount of new content..

Sounds good to me.  lol at people still trying to down play fable saying its 8 hours long. I have gotten 40 hours out of my first play through and about 25 in my second, I plan on rushing through a third to get the third ending.  People must not know how to play these kinds of games.........

I haven't played Fable 2 yet, but I'm thinking about it. ...But I'll tell ya, the quick DLC that they obviously fucked out of the main game just to rake the consumer does not make me want to play it more.

I actually missed the snow in the initial campaign. looks like we´ll get some snow here. looks sweet.

I played the first one for ages.
Finished the story in Fable 2 and I was bored with it.

DLC ... so fast .... to me, this looks like they started producing it before the game was even gold .... cutting on the game's content to sell it afterward, looks like it to me

I have to say I'm against all DLC available this quickly in principle.  Why wasn't in the game?

Eh, it was fun but I think I've had my fill. Sure wish I could use Fable II money to buy it, i've got like 2 million gold... and collecting interest.

I'll consider this if I think I want anything more out of Fable II; as I've progressed through the game, I've been finding myself more and more disinterested in it. Grand Theft Auto 4 and Fallout 3 have much more compelling DLC announced in the near future, and I have enough full games to keep me busy for months now anyway.

Following Lionhead's announcement of the Knothole Island downloadable content coming soon for Fable II, there's a new round of screenshots out from the 800-point ($10) pack. No big surprises here, other than the revelation that the King is apparently alive and well in Albion, as indicated in the first image. See below.

Like Jeff, I haven't even cracked Fable II open yet, and now that this DLC isn't far off, I'm tempted to wait a little bit longer and roll Knothole into my own initial experience. Won't be much longer; Lionhead's promising this one to hit "mid-December." That could be as early as the end of next week, though I'd expect it around the normal XBLA release timeframe the following week.
