USA Today has revealed the first hard details on the forthcoming downloadable content pack for Grand Theft Auto IV.
Rockstar has been characteristically quiet about the nature of the promised downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV, and the time it's taken for that DLC to come to fruition has undoubtedly allowed for much speculation as to what it would actually look like. I had personally assumed that it would serve as a continuation of Niko Bellic's story, which arguably had some pretty significant loose ends.
Now that USA Today has broke the first details about GTA IV's first DLC pack, that doesn't seem to be the case. Titled "The Lost and the Damned," this expansion will put you in the role of Johnny Klebitz, a member of the Liberty City biker gang The Lost. Rockstar's Dan Houser declined comment on any details about the story itself, or the character qualities of Klebitz, other than to say that "the story will show you a different side of Liberty City" and that Klebitz is “a very different character than Niko, with a very different background.” Either way, there hasn't been a half-decent biker story in a video game since Full Throttle, so I'm all for it.
It sounds like some of those loose ends from the main game may get tied up, too.
In the original game, Niko crossed paths with The Lost several times. This time, Niko has only a bit part, Houser says. "The story is not directly impacted by decisions you took in the main game," he says. But "tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of color to the main story."
The Lost and the Damned will be available for Xbox 360 on February 17th, 2009.

Hmmm, I still need to beat GTA4. I hope they throw some more weapons into this download like the chain gun/flamethrower/chainsaw; I'm not a fan of the new "realistic" Liberty City
Yes, nice choice there. I pretended to be a biker in GTA IV (had the clothes and the sunglases and always rode that harley lookin' bike whenever I run into one (literally run into one, with my car). It's cool to have an actual story to go along with this now.
I can understand why they would move away from Niko, his story was already in depth, I don't know how they would have been able to expand on it without it being disappointing. I wish they would have found a way to expand on the story without it being disappointing, but I can see why they didn't.

I couldn't disagree more. The greatest thing about GTA IV was it's realism and it's immersive, incredible story. I can only assume that Rockstar will deliver more amazing content with The Lost and the Damned, and I can not wait.
sooooo.... what about the PS3? I hope Rockstar doesn't screw over it's PS3 GTA fans since the PS systems have been home to all of it's previous entries. I'm already pissed Bethedsa isnt giving PS3 owners any extras for Fallout, I would hate to be pissed with another game company for ignoring their PS3 customers.

Rockstar already announced before the game even came out that the DLC would be exclusive to the 360.
Couldn't care a less, haven't played GTAIV since April and have no intention on getting back into it. And yes, its 360 exclusive, at least for the time being, microsoft paid like 50 million or something to get an exclusive deal, and Sony doesn't do stuff like that.
yeah but it could be "exclusive" dlc....the details of this kind of thing never get released to the public. Its always called "exclusive" DLC untill the time runs out and they release it for a different system.
But i doubt microsoft shelled out that much cash for a timed-exclusive....
Rock star what is wrong with you? Why cant you bring this to PS3? Everyone who wanted this game probably has it by now, the exclusive nature of this extra content makes no sense to me. Like my money isnt good enough.

Besides having no idea why it's done a double quote box, really, if you want that kind of gameplay, get to Saint's Row or something. GTA IV was so much better than San Andreas because it focused more on story and characters rather than gimmicks to keep the retards entertained.
i bet that $50 million contract MS gave Rockstar will only be good for like 6 months and then the DLC will be on the ps3. why would they only release on one console when they can make a lot more $$$ on both?
As badly as I wanted MOAR Niko, it's probably best that other sides of his saga (or Liberty City's) be told. I love the direction R* is taking. Sounds like $50,000,000 well spent.
Get off your high horse pause422, Sony is no more innocent of things like this than any other company. How much do you think they paid 2K for the exclusive BioShock content? You think 2K just did that out of the kindness of their hearts because they felt bad for releasing the game a year later on the PS3? What about them yanking the ability to play their movies on the 360 at the last second? That had nothing to do with money. Sorry to shatter your devine perception of Sony but they're no cleaner than the next company, they all play dirty.
On topic I am really amped for this episode, loved GTAIV and any reason to get back into it is fine with me.
So, niko could fly helecopters because of his army background, i'm guessing the biker can't?
Or he's a vietnam veteran who can, lol It didn't matter before because of the jolly storylines and spadefulls of fun, same as in saints row 2, but GTA4 decided to go the realism route, i wonder how they'll explain this.
