·        Wings - “Band on the Run”
·        Zakk Wylde’s Original Guitar Duel Recording

All told, a pretty awesome list with a slightly different focus than Rock Band 2. The only thing that's a little weird is the number of songs that are featured in both games--by my count there are no less than 12 songs that you'll find on the disc in both games, and that's without considering the DLC. So what do you think, are there enough differences to justify buying both, or are you unwilling to pay for the same songs twice? If nothing else, I think we can all agree that these are ridiculous problems to have.

UPDATE: Make that 13 tracks that are on the disc in both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. Here's an explicit list of the crossover tracks.

·        The Allman Brothers Band - “Ramblin' Man”
·        Blondie - “One Way or Another”
·        Bon Jovi - “Livin’ On A Prayer”
·        Dinosaur Jr. - “Feel The Pain”
·        Fleetwood Mac - “Go Your Own Way”
·        Foo Fighters - “Everlong”
·        Jane's Addiction - “Mountain Song”
·        Jimmy Eat World - “The Middle”
·        Lacuna Coil - “Our Truth”
·        Modest Mouse - “Float On”
·        Silversun Pickups - “Lazy Eye”
·        Smashing Pumpkins - “Today”
·        Survivor - “Eye of the Tiger”

Yeah, I'm buying both.

Three Tool songs and a Mars Volta song...not to mention the Doors.

Now if only we could get some Blood Brothers on DLC, I'd be the happiest camper.

In sad to see that they picked assasian as the Muse song. I would have prefered something like muscle museum, but that would probaly fit in better with Rock Band since Guitar Hero still seems to be trying to put out super hard stuff

Honestly I don't even understand how it's been four versions of Guitar Hero and two versions of Rockband, AND STILL Pantera's "Floods" and Metallica's Fade to Black hasn't even been on either.

It's just incredable in my opinion, how trash gets on these games and those two songs hasn't even been given a chance.

My copy of Rock Band 2 shipped today, so I have no time to think about how awesome Lenny Kravitz' "Are You Gonna Go My Way" would be to play on any instrument.

Shame, Zack Wylde's stuff seems to be the only actual metal in the game. Though Tool's Parabola would be interesting to play.

The president himself should royally decree that there is only to be ONE musical band game on the market, and that it is to be rock band. Because at the moment this is just ridiculous.

I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of (real) metal.

Although seeing this:

Ted Nugent - “Stranglehold”

Will make me buy it no matter what.

Here's hoping volume 2 of Rocks the 80's is forthcoming, and not another buttfuck relegated to PS2.

"Hollow" is the best way to describe how this list is looking to me. A lot of people had initial gripes with Guitar Hero III's setlist, and never warmed up to it -- on the other hand, I was really enthusiastic about most song choices in III, but the problem simply was that Neversoft didn't seem to take into consideration the lasting value/replayability factor of the songs in that game. Whereas Guitar Hero II kept me occupied for an entire year, I breezed through much of Guitar Hero III in a couple months, and then basically lost the desire to play even the challenging songs after that.

While WT has secured its fair share of impressive rhythm game newcomers -- Doors, Tool, Mars Volta, At the Drive-in, Sublime, it feels like the bar is set way lower on overall song quality compared to Rock Band 2. Obviously a matter of opinion, but from my perspective... 311, Coldplay, Korn, Anouk... Sweet Home Alabama, On the Road Again... nothing in RB2 made me say "come on" as much as some of these choices.

The amount of shared songs between the two games is staggering -- the majority are great songs, but it doesn't help WT's case considering the sloppy engine makes it the less desirable game to play them on. The number of shared songs gets even higher if you happened to have purchased The Kill, B.Y.O.B., or Monsoon in Rock Band. And let's not forget that "Antisocial" has already appeared as DLC for Guitar Hero III, and they're now rereleasing it.

Hopefully others will find their own standout tracks in World Tour, but it's by far the least appealing setlist to me yet. Oh well, I'll be way too busy with RB2 to care for a long while.

Eh. I'm not a fan of having an artist take up two (or three, looking at Tool) songs in the setlist. That's a bummer. I'm not too fond of all the tracks that are on both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero IV. But I guess I'll still be getting Guitar Hero, because I have no friggin' idea when Rock Band 2's coming out.

Even with 13 songs being sharred (16 including DLC for RB) that's still about 60 unique tracks you're not getting in the other game. So it's a no brainer, plus those songs will give you a good comparison of who's gameplay you really like more (mostly for drums).

I'm not as impressed with it as I am with Rock Band 2's soundtrack, but I do have to admit it's a pretty nice collection of songs. Since the instruments are cross-compatible I'll probably wind up buying the game sometime.

Nice track list.. although the Metallica track is not a great choice there are far better tracks than that one,, although if they have a World tour version of death magnetic then that will make up for it in spades.

The setlist may not be as good as rock bands but man do i hate guitar in rock band, songs that i could breeze through on GH3 im failing because of the way it handles its solos ans shitty hammer ons, plus this setlist is pretty sweet too.
