robin co op mode in sequel
so i know i have just drawn the combined hate of every single poster on this website but hear me out. i think it would be cool if they introduced a seperate mode in the sequel where you have robin with batman controlled by a second player.
the differences in this mode being that you deal with more/harder enemies due to having two player, can unleash special combo moves like (ha) batman throwing robin into a crowd of enemies (come on you know its genius) and altered dialogue for some scenes.
it could be feasible if you introduce robin as being fairly quiet and only interjecting into conversations occasionally, and have each character perform a standard acknowledgement line at the beginning of conversations.
does anyone agree with me here or am i a one man minority?

heh maybe im just too used to gamefaqs, where all out flame attacks are all too common. i just figure theres so much robin hate the response would have been WUT!? SCREW U!!! forgive me still getting used to how things work here.
Remember in old games where if you played 2-player the 2nd player was just the same character as the 1st player, but he'd be different colour?
They should do that. He should be dark purple.
Oh come on guys. What's with all the robin hate? He's a good supporting character (for the most part anyways).
" Co-op yes, but maybe someone other than Robin? "Catwoman would be a better fit. She is rumored to be in the sequel and I think she would be easier to explain than Robin. She would also fit the darker tone that the franchise is striving for. I like Robin, but I think this series should just focus on Batman as the primary hero. Leave Robin and Batgirl to some other game.
No co-op or Robin are necessary. The game's atmosphere would partially be spoiled by co-op, don't need that at all. Also, Robin is almost never good.
Robin is horrible, he takes any credibility out of the Batman franchise.
Not to mention he makes Bruce Wayne look like a cradle snatching pedophile for living with a young orphan boy. (And even sharing a bed with him in the 60's comics lol)
Co-Op would be nice, just as long as it's not Robin.
Maybe Nightwing?

I don't think it'd be too bad if he was there only as a co-op character, and didn't actually have any part in the story.
But yeah, Nightwing would fit the tone of the game a lot better.
two face co-op! one person controls the good half, the other controls the evil half. you flip a coin to decide who gets to control when.
Coop-good idea. Robin-bad idea. Of course Robin would be the logical approach to coop but Robin is lame.
I was just thinking about it and what they could do to add co-op is to make co-op challenge rooms. That would preserve the atmosphere of the game and allow for them to tailor the game for the two players gameplay wise. And who cares at that point, 2 BATMANS!!!
" KAPOW! It would be pretty great if they used the same game mechanics but just completely changed the tone to old skool camp Batman. "Yes,
I think considering the fact that there was no mention of Robin (not even in the character bio's section), that the developers are ignoring his existence. Which is a damn good thing, in my opinion.
" @Bertmasta said:If any comment in 2010 is better than this I will perform felatio on said person." Co-op yes, but maybe someone other than Robin? "i'm available on weekends "
So it's just another third person shooter? No thanks." The sequel needs this Batman:
"
I never said anything about it being a shooter." @PureRok said:

Here are all of Batman's friends. Take your pick:
What an uncesssarily long post, you should probably delete it. It also includes guys like Superman... don't see how that would work in any way.
And the picture you posted had Batman or some guy shooting guns...

Batman and Superman have teamed up before, it wouldn't be that odd.
I'd be completely okay with that, and if they did do that I would hope they would go kind of nuts with the Robin character and make him play completely differently. Or they could go all out and just throw everyone in, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Spoiler, Azrael, Catwoman, the whole works, and just have them rotate out or something. If they could make all of the other characters unique and make all of their combat techniques just as deep as Batman's; it would be like they were saying on the Bombcast a bit of wasted depth within the single player campaign, but if you suddenly had a ton of different characters to choose from in the challenge rooms, they'd suddenly become a whole lot more compelling. For me at least. And having the characters rotate out means that the second player isn't stuck with someone they don't like for very long.
EDIT: And for clarification, only Batman peoples should be in the co-op. No Superman or anything like that. I'm rather fond of the Batman mythos being sort of separate from the DCU as a whole.
