It's been a long time since the beginning of video games and yet, no nudity? Look at Dragon Age. They incorporated this "romance" system that also shows glimpses of certain sex positions but without nudity. What's the point of it in the first place? it's a real disappointment for the adult video gaming community.
I just find this amusing; Games are designed, programmed, written and developed by adults and receive treatment as if it's for kids only.
Dragon Age: Origins
Game » consists of 20 releases. Released Nov 03, 2009
Dragon Age: Origins is an epic fantasy role-playing game featuring a rich story, personality-driven characters, and tactical, bloody combat. It is considered a spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series.
When is pure 18+ going to start?
Because in video games shooting people's heads off is okay but sex isn't. That's just how it is and is going to be for a LONG time.
People are just uncomfortable with the accessibility of video games and fear the influence it has on our lives. I personally think, if everyone just was WAY more open about everything, like talked it out with each other, the world would be much better. But that's basically a utopia.
" Wait for Heavy Rain.... "yep im curious how this will turn out because if you watched the extended video of the night club level she does go topless for about 7-10 seconds.
@Alphiehyr
i can confirm that there is nudity but im not linking it on here because i dont think we are aloud to link websites with porn. i could pm it.
" No one wants to see digital nudity its just weird. "I have no doubt that there is a certain market for digital nudity but I agree with your sentiment.
Doesn't God of War feature boobies all the time?

Boobs aren't 'porn', nudity and porn are different things. Besides actual adult games which can be considered porn most others that feature nudity are far from porn.
" @Alphiehyr i can confirm that there is nudity but im not linking it on here because i dont think we are aloud to link websites with porn. i could pm it. "I calling fake since i have seen the video but you are allowed to post mature content if to do with video games.
There have been games with bare breasts etc. but games aren't going to go any further (or probably even as far) as R-rated movies do. It's just not something anybody can sell after that point.
" No one wants to see digital nudity its just weird. "I wouldn't mind it. If it's characters you care about eventually having sex with full on nudity in a tasteful way, that would be cool.
" If you want more nudity why don't you watch some porn? I don't play games for thirty second pornographic clips. I'm more concerned with actual depth in gameplay and story than watching two robot sim looking things bump and grind. "My point is, they shouldn't restrict nudity as it can be used for many reasons in a video game; realistic portrayal of a story, art etc. Nudity and porn are two different things.

As far as portraying a story in a realistic manner, no thanks. In Dragon Age it is assumed that our characters eat, never shown. It is assumed that our characters digest the food and eventually must use the restroom but never shown. I am happy assuming certain things because they don't necessarily add much to the story. Sex scenes are rarely relevant to the story and more often than not serve as some sort of conclusion or reward for completing a proverbial obstacle course.
To clarify I'm not against sex in video games however when it is implemented poorly all it is really is at that point is porn.

I love my glorious Netherlands :p

see for yourself then..
" Cause porn is less mass marketable Also, I'm fine with games as they are "boobs are not porn.
:P
It still baffles me that no one called out or even seems to remember the sex scene from Mafia. It was tasteful, but it definitely showed everything, and that game was still rated M (it was probably memorable to me because it came out of nowhere, I was younger, and I'd never really seen a game come out and show it before). Given that example, it seems that any game should be able to show a blatant sex scene and still come away with an M rating. I mean, after all, if you've already got the M rating, you might as well put it to good use. I'm an adult; and while I'm not saying that I'm looking for porn in my video games (if I want that, I'll go look at some actual porn, or even better...), it seems retarded that pretty much every sex scene in the industry is some cutaway, fadetoblack, implied bullshit, when in movies and even some TV shows, sex has been a norm for quite some time.
I believe Bioware stated that the decision to cut away at sex scenes was an artistic choice. The only way I can really believe that is when I think about just how shitty a sex scene in the Dragon Age engine would look. It does make sense not to include something that it seems no game engine can do properly (though I've seem a fair many that can do an okay job, but they're all purpose-built for it).
Children will still pick up porn. Children will still pick up movies. Children will still pick up comic books, listen to music, use the internet. Part of being a parent is deciding how long to keep your kids away from that kinda stuff. If you're ignoring the label warnings, you aren't a good parent, and at that point, who cares?" Because children (People...not over 18, like the game specifies) will still pick it up. "

If you don't agree, I'm sure you'd fit into the category of "bad parent."" @AndrewB said:

My point is that you could apply the "but children will still get ahold of M rated content!" argument to any form of media, so that is not an argument at all. The key to keeping kids away from it is in parenting.
Its pretty crazy to see the amount of M rated games these days compared to like 6 years ago. I think as the average gamer age continues to go up, we might see Adult only games appear at some point. Maybe not in stores, but via Digital, or ordering them from a site.
edit: On a side note has everyone forgotten about the "Hot Coffee" mod? Did that seem like a mini game that gamers would actually want to play?" No one wants to see digital nudity its just weird. "
There's already nudity in games, games that still retain an M rating. If it bothers you that much that a chick is wearing a bra and isn't showing nipples then you might want to talk to someone about that. You can get the same sensual and emotional effect with a barely clothed woman than you can with a naked one.
Less is more.
In certain cases, partially clothed can be more impactful than completely nude.
Try the James Bond movie Casino Royale, would you have guessed that Eva Greene was originally supposed to be naked in the shower after the stairwell fight scene? After "The Dreamers" she was somewhat ashamed that she bared so much, so she requested that she remain clothed in the shower, and the scene was so much more powerful as a result of it.
I would agree that first and foremost the game is what matters. I got no problem with boobs or penis, but it should under no circumstances take away from the game. I do have a problem with developers being incapable of releasing games with gratuitous sex, whether the games themselves are any good or not. It's the principle of the matter. I'm a big boy. I watch porn all the time. Why shouldn't I be able to buy a game featuring a foursome from GameStop?
I was also let down by this, the M for mature with the adult content warning made it sound really bad when infact I would let my little brother play no problem, its like lord of the rings with some cartoon blood. I was expecting tons of cursing, nudity, and really hardcore gore. It was very exagerated how "adult" and "dark" the game was and I wish we all could just grow up. The content of M rated games should emcompass all and everything that is in an R rated movie, and it should be no big deal. Somehow I think the ratings board would give half the R rated movies an AO rating.

The darkness of this game is not exaggerated at all and if you think only games with excessive cursing, tons of nudity, and hardcore gore should be rated "mature" then I encourage you to go look up just what the definition of "mature" actually is.
