jk.. but really no bs, only good things taht make you laugh or amaze you about this game so far. im still at the start so no spoilers....
the way that some of teh puzzles are done and how they set up some eniorment scenes really remind me of HL2. which is like the best game ever... so that impressed me, and some of the lighting in this game is just awesome. plus some many funny ass quotes, and little things that are just funny as hell. i like how you can make pop corn, thats just a classic scene.
Duke Nukem Forever
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Jun 14, 2011
After approximately fourteen years of development, the heavily infamous sequel to Duke Nukem 3D was finally released, in which the macho Duke must damper yet another alien invasion.
say something nice... do it.. do it...
The theme is still one of the greatest ever. The game really isn't all that bad but some parts did piss me off.
The game's design, while not strictly speaking good, is incredibly compelling from an academic standpoint.
The theme is still one of the greatest ever. The game really isn't all that bad but some parts did piss me off.I also liked the gun play. I think the vitriol against DNF has been uncalled for; there have been much worse games that got better reviews, but for some reason, DNF is hated upon with malice.
Final Boss Battle was properly balanced on HARD difficulty.
The mockery of other games was kinda funny.
I suppose tickling the 'anus' doors to get them to open is kinda clever. In a weird, twisted sort of way.
It's made me laugh several times. The interactive drawing on the white board is kinda nifty, particularly when you draw a cock and the guy talks about what a great plan that is. The RC car bit was pretty clever. It's fun enough. Very, very low brow humor, but I'm 14 at heart.
The achievement points: hella easy.
this guy had alot to say about the game. i watched half of his playthrough and i too don't understand why all the critics panned this game so badly. its an ok game.
I like the fact that it isn't just going down a straight path shooting guys non-stop.
And while platforming in an FPS isn't very popular, I kinda enjoy it.
Also, you could play pinball and lots of other stupid stuff like that, and I love being able to interact with the environment like that in a game.
"something nice" I know i'm not the first to say it, but im struggling to think of anything else to actually say...
lol i didnt read your post right and was kinda pissed cause of the spoiler but still excited about 'the courthouse' but you where talking about the old one. hehe ah well.@LordXavierBritish: Its not supposed to be. Duke is and always will be a cheese ball. I mean there was a joke in the 4th chapter of Duke 3D where you walk into a courthouse and see the jury hanging from nooses... "Hung Jury?" Extremely groan worthy but that is the kind of humor that Duke is about.
At the beginning of the game, those EDF soldiers who think that whatever you write on the white board is the smartest thing ever are hilarious. The effort and amazement in their voice is so genuine, even though I was drawing a stick man with a way-undersized body.
The nicest thing I can say is that Duke Nukem really isn't that much more cliched than most video game action heroes, if not most video game characters in general. Duke's just more played out.
